How to pilot this deck

Hi.

This is my take on Highlander Secret mage that i took to Rank 1 last season. I tried to go midrange, without Aluneth.

EDIT: -1 Ray of Frost, -1 Piloted Shredder, +1Barista Lynchen, +1 Cloud Prince

  • Was this deck intended to compete seriously, or is it more of a 'for fun, and might win some games' deck? In my view it's suboptimal from the conceptual level and up, but obviously if it's more for fun than tryhard then that's irrelevant.

      Well, first i tried to merge two archetypes for fun just because i can. I have updated the list later, will update here also. I would still not call it tryhard deck, more like "it works by accident".

  • I have a similar deck in Wild that's doing well.  I sadly don't even own a copy of Aluneth so I substituted Subject 9.  And while there are a few other differences I think the most glaring are your lack of Cloud Prince and Ethereal Arcanist.

      I agree, Cloud Prince is a must. I also added Barista Lynchen for some value. I did not really consider Subject 9, it might kill your other three cards that want you to have secrets in your deck.

  • I love this deck! I'm at 70% winrate @ Rank 10-6 this season. It only loses to very greedy decks like Quest Shaman (not the murlocs!), Reno Mage, etc. It has pretty good game against Secret Mage( which is half the games in wild). Thanks for sharing!

      I am glad you like it! You can also beat greedy decks sometimes, you just have to figure out how. I used to struggle with Renolock a lot, then I figured out that i just <snip> them with well timed Potion of Polymorph into his [Hearthstone Card (Void Caller) Not Found], and 5 mana Kazakus potion (polymorph) into his big demon later. Against Reno mages, I just try to go aggro as much as possible.
