  • Wow, now this is quite the removal spell. For 1 mana more you get to destroy the minion when comparing to Righteous Defense. You can also selectively target the undead in hand as well.

  • This will fit in nicely into deathrattle rouge which is shaping up to look like quite the powerhouse. You'd ideally want to target Infectious Ghoul for the memes

  • Good early game value for concoction rouge. As we've seen with Pharaoh Cat and other 1 drops in rogue, this guy will see a lot of play.

  • This concoction rogue is turning out to be quite interesting and unique. Can definitely see a XL rogue playing slower with this cards. This spell will be front and center of the archetype

  • Yoh the power creep is real. Poor Arcane Explosion is definitely upset about this one. This spell could also be a comeback tool if you low on health. Gonna be an annoying and frequent spell to see for the next year.

  • This seems bad in comparison to Unleash Fel. Sure there will be easier ways to get spell damage in Hunter but still, probably the worst arcane spell aside from Arcane Shot

  • Draw that scales for hunter. Something you don't see everyday. The Manathirst breakpoint is at an ideal stage in the mid game too where Hunter would usually be low on cards. Looks promising due to the draw design. If anything, it'll be good in Quest hunter.

  • So I'm assuming you get 2 4/4 Lynxes with additional spell damage right? This spell would probably be the best arcane spell out of the lot honestly. If the archetype were to take off, it'd be coz of this spell.

  • Kinda lame that this is basically the same effect as Halduron Brightwing but for arcane spells in your hand. This minion is ofc weaker coz you don't want to hold onto your spells, but hey, not idea how this new archetype will function. It'll probably be more midrange and have Renathal, like the current beast hunter... ah, honestly I'd just play beast hunter.

  • We'd need a lot more arcane spell support for this legendary to be any good but I'm sure we'll get more eventually. For now though, with just 5 arcane spells in Standard, we'd need a lot more help. This legendary might be good, but we'll just have to wait a bit.

  • So I see where Blizzard is coming from in making an arcane spell damage hunter, it thematically matches the expansion with the Blood Elves who love arcane magic, yea that makes sense. As for viability though... that's asking for a lot. I highly doubt this arcane package will be playable this expansion. We need much more support.

  • Not sure if this was mention somewhere, but after you've accepted a re-roll of your lower quality card, will a notification appear (like on the rewards tack) saying what new card you got from the re-roll? Or will it silently do it in the background and you have to go to your collection to view new cards?

  • Finally finished Banquet of Bones last night. Now only the last remaining 29 ghosts I have to summon for Tales from the Crypt. That'll leave me at maybe 67% completion but couldn't be bothered with the Paladin and Warrior achievements coz those would be painful to complete.

  • Nice flexibility if you don't need the armor, although I do feel the 3/3 taunts are pretty lackluster for the cost you're paying. It'll most likely see play in this new armor druid archetype or off of random card generation.

  • 2 mana gain 8 armor over 2 turns. Kinda like a reverse Frozen Buckler but 2 less armor. It will probably see experimentation in the new armor druid due to the legendary where you want as much armor as possible. Could also be used as cheap tech against aggro but I'm sure there's better options. It's not a bad card, just might not see as much play as other spells.

  • Quite the versatile guy. You could play this in big spell mage, hoping to get a different spell school to recast the spell with Varden or ofc slot into the new casino mage archetype pushed this expansion. It's also an elemental, if that counts for anything as mage has been known to play elemental archetypes from time to time. Only thing holding it back is it's rarity.

  • Oh boy, this guy will be seeing much play, regardless of it's winrate. This is the life of a casino mage after all. The legendary will be playable only due to it's "fun" factor and not it's consistency, but you can build around this legendary by being clever on which spells to randomly generate, unlike Yogg. Obviously the 2 best high value spells are Drakefire Amulet and Rune of the Archmage

Overall, quite like this design, gonna be super crazy in wild quest mage where Time Warp is still a menace.

  • Well ofc there's the Deck of Lunacy comparison but for spells in hand only. There will ofc be certain ppl and love casino mage and probably some gameplay achievements along with it. Just like Deck of Lunacy, this minion will become more precise next year after the standard rotation when the pool of spells is smaller. Will definitely see play along with the legendary.

  • The fact that this legendary gives you 8 armor means you can play 2 8 cost cards in the same turn, at a minimum. In a dedicated armor deck, the value grows even more. I really like this type of design tbh, you are sacrificing survivability to play minions which is an interesting tradeoff, especially if you desperately need the armor to survive.

There's also the Insatiable Devourer and Earthen Scales combo to gain massive amounts of armor, so I wouldn't be surprised if Mark or Dane figure out an armor OTK here.

  • I could feel your frustration Aesan when reading the article. My deepest sympathies for those hardcore merc players who missed out on their Rattlegore
