  • We're going to see plenty of owl OTK warlock on release. Only good thing being that this deck is slow, probably slower than questlock and other combo decks. Otherwise, its a near guarantee to finish off your opponent.

Surprised no one mentioned this at all, given that Thjis was basically playing nothing but this for some time in the theorycraft stream.

  • I did mine again. At no point did I receive the achievement until after I finished rokara for the 2nd time.

There probably isn't any loophole for this one, unless you figure out a way to skip right to the end. Mercifully rokara's story isn't really all that hard. Probably waste a mere 30 min of your time.

  • Here's a list, of which nearly all variants of demon seed+fools bane came from later. I prefer mine with some extra draws. After a while I ended up just ditching Glacial Shard for Backfire. Fire Stomp as signature treasure.

Basically, his was the first deck I saw that abused the power of Fool's Bane for easy wins, which is why I noted that board based decks simply cannot win against this list unless they get really lucky with board spam, or you get extremely unlucky with your draws.

Im not sure what list you're running, but this deck absolutely needs minions to get anywhere, because of the power of Raise Dead, Shadowblade Slinger and various armor gain minions. Best treasures are stuff like grommash's armguards (yes this is not a joke. Just dont pick buckets with weapons because fool's bane is all you really need). Best pool 2 can vary from battle totem to legendary loot, depending on what you get off buckets.

Below 4 wins are easy enough, because you have consistent armor gain, and if you have fools bane in hand its near impossible for a board deck to beat you. Past 5 wins its really down to card draw and control, but generally if you have the weapon in hand you're really not going to lose to a board. I get easily to 7 wins, usually losing to only mind tether priests, various mages, and other burn strats. Or losing because my opponent got the nuts treasure like party replacement or massive battle totem value decks.

Pick control and pain buckets, but if you can find some card draw its worth picking it depending on what you have. The deck plays control 90% of the time, then when tamsin is out its just 6+ damage every turn. If your opponent spams board just fire stomp for safety or fools bane with tamsin for the easy 30+ damage. Even big boards is basically just going to turbo your quest completion and then its massive damage every turn from there.

Edit: should have noted that if you're aiming for consistency, you can ditch some cards for extra card draw, at the cost of a small disadvantage in the early rounds. But ultimately, from my experience its not a consistent deck because of polarising matchups. I cant recall ever losing to a board. My best is 11 wins, I think I lost the last one because I didn't draw my fools bane. Most of my matches end around 7-8 wins, mostly losing to mind tether + fireshaper, the very definition of broken.

Would love to see those Diablo lists, from my experience the demon-seed is only strong in the early rounds (and even then you could easily die to a pirate warrior or elemental shaman).

You can probably find it easily on the web. The most famous, and probably most successful list Ive seen so far, would be primal power hp along with The Demon Seed, full on armor gain and control, with Fool's Bane as the only weapon, which is practically broken with demon seed.

Play it right and no list that runs minions will ever get close to victory, not with Fire Stomp and so many control tools.

This list doesn't suffer in the early or late game, its only weakness is its polarising matchups. If you run into decks that doesn't play minions, or run burn strats you'll start with such a massive disadvantage that your only chance of winning would be by claiming a few value buckets along the way. Or your opponent screws up big, which honestly tends to happen more often than not.

  • Arcane Brilliance will dupe a card from your deck. So if you discount Rune of the Archmage in your hand, it wouldn't matter. Far as I know only Incanter's Flow can reduce their cost in deck.

In standard at least, this is one card that will never be passed over. Its just too good. That is, assuming big spell mage makes it at all, and from what Ive seen in the theorycraft stream, it doesn't look particularly well for this archetype.

  • Twitch does show whether you're progressing towards the drops. It should appear when you click your own profile.

Just make sure you claim the first drop because the second doesn't progress until the first is claimed (or at least that's how it works, I think).

  • So we know that honor kill only triggers in your turn, but does it trigger on killing your own minions? On blizz's own website they spelled it out as 'killing an enemy minion". I believe this to not be the case, that it also triggers with your own minions, but obviously I can't test it. Guess we'll find out on the theorycraft stream.

On the question about questlock, I really think at some point something will be done about it, not because its very oppressive, but because of its sheer power it more or less pushes everything else warlock has aside, at least anything that even resembles a win condition. Doesnt help a lot that the warlock set this time round doesn't look particularly great.

Wouldn't be too surprised if The Demon Seed gets another nerf, and this time it may just kill it. Likely going to see lifesteal dhunter and garrote rogue on that list as well.

  • Mere titles granted as you progress down the honor ladder. Meaningless to gameplay, but might grant a small boost to self esteem every time you stare at it.

  • Tommorow's news: All honor points gained today will be reset and restarted when the expansion releases.

  • Tested concede on t1. No honor points :(

  • Does this mean to get the opposite faction legendary, we'd have to grind up to 7200 honor in that 36 days or get lucky with whoever wins the war at the end?

10 games per day (and that's being generous here) is a fairly big amount to be honest. Fortunately it also works with the other modes, so we dont have to pour it all on standard ranked, but that's still an incredible amount of games. Not a fan of this arrangement.

Pretty sure team5 coded it so you dont get honor if you concede before a certain amount of health, because otherwise there would be quite a lot of t1 concedes down in bronze wild. That'll likely suck, because there are certain games where its perfectly legitimate to concede before getting to 15 health or less.

  • Those pool 1 passives looks ready to piss a good deal of players off when it gets offered to decks that absolutely have none of those spells in the deck. Hopefully team5 coded it to appear according to the number of these spells in the deck.

Anyone know if we'll get a free ticket from heroics this time round?

  • Nice to know that we'll get Korrak right away with the tavern pass so I dont have to chance it off packs. Would have been interesting if it was a hero card instead, then we'll get the first diamond hero in the game. Wonder how distracting it would be to have that hero animation float around like its resisting an itch.

Fortunately the price remains the same. It is activision-blizz here. In another world, it would have been 5 bucks extra.

  • Prior to the midset garrote rogue (kazakus version) basically only had 1 new card in it, which was Garrote. Every other card is from previous expansions. It'll be better to discuss about the cards rather than looking at the number of new cards in it because we'll never know without testing it. Its a theorycraft after all.

This is also the first time shaman has gotten freeze effects since KotFT. From my own experience piloting burn shaman one of its weaknesses was consistency (draw) and control. Windchill basically fills both holes. Snowfall Guardian is too slow, while Frostbite seems surplus to plans

Im not saying this will break the meta, but its a fun way to explore day 1, at least for me. I think an elemental shaman hybrid might do better, but Im keen to explore burn shaman first.

    I appreciate the comment though.

  • Guys who dont like the sudden appearance of a boss when they're chasing after a time-limited goal? I mean, WotC was a great expansion, but I downloaded that mod that terminated the time limits because the number of times I failed a mission because one of the chosen decided to appear out of nowhere. And some of the chosen upgrades really takes the cake of being annoying as hell: the teleport when hit is a definite highlight.

Even with a high end rig though, damn does Satisfactory run like crap once stuff gets really big.

Isn't this the truth about all these management games. At very least satisfactory doesn't run that badly until you colonize half the planet. Oxygen not included (another amazing game on sale by the way) chugs my rig even in the mid game (though admitably there's plenty more moving parts there. Every block of air for example is a moving mathematical chalk board)

  • Everything in blizz is up at a sale...all except hearthstone. Like seriously. There are a few 'cheap' bundles, but that's about it. I believe hearthstone has started selling legendaries (at random) now too, but depends if players would consider paying 7 bucks for one legendary as cheap. At least its cheaper than a mercs legendary. Oh well.

Would also recommend getting satisfactory. If there are people who enjoy these management building games, then this is as good as it gets in a 3d environment. Just be prepared with a notepad because when flux mentions math, he's not kidding. I get lots of enjoyment impossibly crisscrossing my conveyor belts around and pretend its a rollercoster.

does it draw for each damaged? i was under the impresion  that it would draw one card no matter what.

It heals all for 3, which means both sides.

It'll only draw if after healing for 3 there are still injured. So if you play this on one when both sides are still at full health, you dont draw any cards.

  • On the top end: Mozaki mage, token/midrange dhunter, doomhammer shaman, quest handlock, secret hunter, ramp druid, secret rogue, libram pally

Unsure, but probably good decks: beast druid, zoo/egglock, aggro pirate warrior, control priest, elemental shaman, inner fire priest (for the lack of a better name. Bless priest doesn't cut it for me)

Quest warrior is good, but I honestly always thought it as a middling deck, easy to figure out and play around. There are plenty of times where I wonder whether its actually better to not play quest and just play plain aggro warrior. Now with some end game like Rokara, the Valorous and Captain Galvangar, is there any reason to play quest?

Big spell mage has all the potential in the world, but just about every combo deck will destroy this thing and Im not necessarily convinced it has enough defenses to power through any deck with a burn plan. But I may be wrong. After all, team5 is pushing this hard, and Im fairly certain they playtested this one.

Speaking of combo decks. The hero cards are nice, but lifesteal dhunter is still fairly good in the right hands and mozaki mage just got a massive boost in the form of Siphon Mana. Will this all eclipse this expansion? Perhaps. But Lightforged Cariel being one of the flasher heroes means its likely going to be somewhat a struggle, though Im sure legend players would relish the challenge.

Doomhammer and elemental shaman looks kinda dangerous. With Windchill being a much needed draw option and Snowball Fight! being needed stall, as well as the late game value of Bru'kan of the Elements, I wouldn't count them out completely. And if the meta turns slow, then maybe we'll start seeing that ysharaaj-bolner end game.

The one class Im most interested in seeing is how priest will be doing. Got lots of good cards this time round.

See you guys in the next expansion.

  • Here's my wishlist:

Kurtrus, Demon-Render - Im absolutely convinced by token dhunter right now. Even so, this one can win games on its own.

Frostsaber Matriarch - I want to play midrange beast druid. Can't do that without this epic card.

Lightforged Cariel - Will be in EVERY paladin deck bar none. Don't want to miss out.

Forsaken Lieutenant - Cant play deathrattle rogue without this epic card.

Korrak the Bloodrager - Probably one of the most interesting legendaries to date. If it works as I think it might, its a card for deathrattle rogue, which Im keen to experiment.

Beaststalker Tavish - I always have a soft spot for secret hunters.

...which means Im likely not going to get any of the above. Much obliged rng gods.
