  • Its going to be a card dump then, likely tomorrow since that was the date for the full reveals to have been done anyway.

This is going to go down as one of the roughest times in hearthstone history. Disappointing. Not merely because of the shambles that is and was the final portion of the reveal season, but also that's it bringing out the worst of some people in its community.

As many have opined, least they could've done is to tell us earlier what just happened. I mean they moved the final reveals a day earlier only to move it again? Fairly certain 99% of the community supports any notion of solidarity for the victims of harassment but no one likes to be served shit when they've clearly been promised some ice cream.

  • It may be rng reliant, but its dang more easier to complete than via any other way. Glide is out, because if you're drawing cards then this card will almost always screw you more than your opponent. I see the quest as a complementary to soul dhunters rather than an outright win condition, so even if you whiff on the soulshards its not the end of the world.

Well, then the question would be why have the quest at all? Maybe because it makes kor'vas very much more viable than it should have any right to be. Soul dhunters aren't necessarily trash; with the right combination it might make a comeback.

  • If there's a card that spawns minions on trading it might be possible. But there's no way dhunters can skip turns just trading cards away. And there's also the fact that the reward doesn't actually win you the game so the quest completion itself cannot actually be the only thing you're concentrating on doing to win.

But as you say we're about 3 hours away from the full reveals so Im keeping my fingers crossed that this isn't as bad as I think it is.

  • The best part of the reveals is to listen to Thijs rapping.

The quest itself? Kinda bad. Or rather to say its very narrow. Basically unless dhunters get something that extends their draws artificially the only way to actually complete this without drawing your entire deck would be via the soulshards. And for your hard work, what's the reward?

Your drawn cards cost 2 less. Whoop dee doo.

In any deck without soulshards you'll likely have drawn 2/3s of your entire deck so what's the reward really going to accomplish? You can't even justify this in OTK dhunter because you can't control what you've drawn, unless you're relying on the god move with Glide (not a good thing by the way)

Oh well. At least the tier 1 and 2 rewards are kinda good. Its not impossible to accomplish and does give you a good advantage doing something dhunters are generally going to do anyway. Kinda interesting that having discounted cards, outcast cards, is an easy way to make something like Kor'vas Bloodthorn work.

But Im 100% certain that without further support outside of soulshards, this is just a near exclusive soul dhunter card.

  • Its not looking good. The problem is that the conditions require a whooping 14 cards drawn, and each tier requires drawn cards per turn at 4/5/5 per tier. Which means you cant cumulatively do this, it has to be 4 cards per turn before you can progress at all.

So what's the reward? Your cards drawn cost 2 less from now on...and how many cards you would have left? Maybe 5-7 if you're lucky.

In other words, this quest can only truly fit into a soul deck, which will extend your drawn cards so the conditions aren't literally impossible to accomplish. Even OTK lifesteal dhunter can't accomplish drawing 5 cards per turn without having the god hand.

This is yet again a case where the lower tier reward is literally more useful than the actual reward itself. If you accomplish any of the tiers, the drawn cards get discounted by 1, which isn't really alot, but can decide some matches. Besides which, by the time Kurtrus comes out it's likely that you've drawn all the cards you need and the only way to reload the deck to take advantage of the reward is via something like Glide. That's never a good sign.

Of course, dhunter reveals have been sparse so there might be more ways to do this than it seems. But I'm a little underwhelmed by the reward. My guess is that its in anticipation of some outcast deck because the one card that really benefits from all that cost reduction would be Kor'vas Bloodthorn.

  • If he does then that's one more card we get to see before the finals.

He'll be a brave soul that's for sure. There's absolutely nothing morally wrong about him doing this obviously, but I really hope the heat of this latest scandal doesn't burn his arse if he does do the reveal.

  • Only Thijs reveal is left. And Ive a good suspicion that it'll be canceled.

Its only about 12 hours later when we see all but pcgamer's (for some unfathomable reason). So at very least its not a long wait.

There has got to be some kind of rogue exclusive deathrattle in the works because there's no chance this card is printed without one. At the moment, only two cards are worth the trouble running this, Ticket Master and Infiltrator Lilian. The rest are really stuff rogue doesn't typically need like Explosive Sheep and Death's Head Cultist.

Mana cost is a bit on the expensive side, but if the deathrattle is worth it then this will feature in nicely.

I agree, but as is it still opens up a deck idea to toy with.

I think the Mana cost is fine if you are focused something like Lilian, because it curves into Counterfeit Blade, which notably cares about friendly Deathrattles that have been triggered, not necessarily died.

That's actually a good point, that it does curve into the blade.

Which makes it even more important that the deathrattle should give out minions, because otherwise we're toying with the idea of basically zero board development for 2 turns and that's usually a losing play for rogue.

  • What Necrium Apothecary should have been from the start. Guess team5 learnt their lesson so this card now features a very crucial limitation.

This card is practically signalling that there has to be some kind of very strong deathrattle card in the works for rogue because there's no chance something like this is printed and there being no follow up (I hope). At the moment, its not impressive. But obviously with the introduction of better deathrattle cards this card can absolutely be core.

Im now absolutely convinced that the quest for rogue is now either related to shuffle or deathrattles. We'll find out soon enough in about 12 hours.

  • So far got two packs out of 2 days. There really is a massive lot of avatars floating about in the tavern there, and around mr popular.

I think the reason is because there's no logout button (or if there is its very well hidden) so people either just leave the website running or like me they hard close it, which may have resulted in their avatars being stuck in that world until some sort of refresh or reset is made. Just an interesting thought.

  • If you have a friend whos more than willing to help, you can get that person to do this for you. There's no account link here, just get your friend to share the code with you when its done. Redeem via battlenet, that's really the only connection there is to your hearthstone account.

  • Its weird how all of them clump around him when its entirely possible to do this as long as you can still click him.

  • Its primary function would be to trigger frenzy or damage related keywords.

As a removal option, its interesting but perhaps a little to optimistic to assume this card would ever clear your opponent's board while leaving a minion intact. Even something as robust as Moonfang can only take 3 hits, and with a clutch buff only 5 hits.

Another problem is likely that the effect triggers from the earliest played minion first, similar to Trueaim Crescent. Since your opponent controls this and not yourself, its never really going to take trades as you prefer it.

But the fact that you can use this as a removal or a trigger, and it being both tradeable and 0 mana, I've no doubt this will see play one way or another.

  • Done and dusted. Will be there again until the whole thing ends just out of curiosity, because supposedly the idea is that you can get at least one per day.

Have anyone tried redeeming two codes in one account? Because apparently there seem to be no real limit how many dreamhack accounts you can create so theoretically you can just scam as many packs as you want (or as many as you endure, took me somewhere around 20 minutes to get everything done)

  • He did, but as I mentioned, its what you'd expect from your CEO.

...what I can say is that the behavior detailed in the allegations is completely unacceptable.

    - It goes - with saying - it is completely unacceptable for anyone in the company to face discrimination or harassment.

I'm not expecting him to put on an emotional outburst promising fiery retribution for harassers. But at the same time its pretty standard boiler plate kind of stuff. Meticulous, but robotic.

In my opinion Mike Morhaime gave the better statement. But it may not be fair to compare the two, I'd acknowledge that.

  • He simply acknowledged something that is prevalent, and in my opinion, pretty much part of human nature. He then says

"It is the responsibility of leadership to keep all employees feeling safe, supported, and treated equitably, regardless of gender and background. It is the responsibility of leadership to stamp out toxicity and harassment in any form, across all levels of the company"

which honestly is also not only true, but come across to me as essentially what is and should be expected in the first place: monkeys kept in place by a more understanding, mature and respected member of its community.

Of course he's going to only comment on the gaming industry, he's in it. Im not expecting him to start telling me about Nike sweat shops and child labor.

  • The first from Brack is very meticulously written, almost nearing levels where it feels like it has gone past a test screening before being released. Not that Im implying anything, but it feels a lot like what you get off your CEOs from these controlled 'townhall' sessions or something you'd find out of a company annual report.

Well, at least you can speculate about whether J Brack actually believes in his, or rather his ghostwritten but approved, type outs.

Fran's however, is more interesting. It comes across as more real, more genuine. Unfortunately, its brashness also highlights a sort of aloof quality, like someone whos constantly jabbering about how wonderful life is or can be to an audience in a refugee camp. I mean this is stretching what can only be described as 'out-of-touch'. Not surprisingly people around aren't exactly happy with this one, and there are allegations that blizz employees are fuming over it.

Of course, there's no reason to be outraged over these stuff. Its emails intended for activision-blizzard employees and honestly to be completely expected from the top brass. What I'd be expecting from Bobby Kotick or J Brack to the public would be the usual "we acknowledged we haven't done better, etc." stuff, but what I really hope for is for them to come out and tell us what the hell they are going to do about all these and how they hope to remedy the problem whether or not they would manage to get the suit kicked out of court - on top of paying remedial compensation (if convicted) - and the potential stern disciplinary action to be taken against certain managerial staff members after incontrovertible investigations conducted by a transparent third party.

  • Kinda bad honestly. Why its a warrior card is beyond me. Had it just summon the 2/1 immediately after taking damage it would have at least serve some niche. So a couple of 2/1s will be coming out any given time, but without rush or taunt its not likely to do much anyway.

Maybe the quest is to summon mechs, which will explain this bizarre design decision. We'll find out during the big release then.

  • The only thing that stands out is the fact that its a 3/6 for 4, which means in most cases it will take 2 hits, sending 2 parts into your deck.

Unfortunately, that's more or less it. Without rush, taunt, or any other keyword, the sole reason for ever using this minion would be because its a mech and because it has the probability of giving you a 2/1 at any given time.

But yeah, it kinda sucks to be honest. Warriors cant draw well in standard and aren't known for shuffling mechanics, and I dont expect this to change. I'd play Whirling Combatant or Crimson Hothead over this any day.
