Its a strong minion on 4 on its own, it gets better with rush, but I wouldn't count on that very often, given that there's simply very little that can actually buff it in hand.
But as a 4 mana 3/5 with a crucial divine shield, and in paladin as well, it cannot be understated how difficult it is to remove it. For that, this earns high marks from me. In fact, the only reason I can see for not including this into every paladin archetype in standard is simply because kazakus exists.
Its a handbuff support card in an expansion where the only handbuff card revealed so far is Prismatic Jewel Kit
Unless there more methods to do this other than Invigorating Sermon, Im just not that optimistic about the rush part. As it stands its a strong minion on its own, being a 3/5 divine shield in a class where board control is relevant.
Probably see play in a sermon deck, or some form of theoretical divine shield midrange paladin. Or just jam this in all paladins, because divine shield on 4 is just too powerful in a follow up to something like Blessing of Authority
@IksarHS pretty tough day to be a blizz fan with the lawsuit news coming out. i doubt you can comment on it, but what do you do on the hs side to keep the culture positive and inclusive?
@RidiculousHat I haven't looked into it much, but from what I did read it sounds horrifying. I hope whatever truth comes out of it lands as harshly as possible on those responsible. In 10 years I've been here, I've honestly thought of Blizzard as the most open and inclusive place there is.
Obviously I looked it up. Its in reddit anyway, but this was the first time Ive even heard of such a thing.
Honestly when I read about someone hinting this to Iksar on the last Q&A I was already surprised that it didn't blow up earlier. Really destroys the mood and atmosphere around one of the best parts of hearthstone, which is the reveal season.
Apparently working for blizz isn't always part of the dream, I feel sorry for the victims. It gets worse considering how much effort is being made by the company to show diversity through their games only for a few toxic individuals to stain the whole thing with a massive turd on everyone's face.
Let's hope activision-blizzard starts putting some sense into their heads and understand that a mere slap on the wrist is no longer possible when dealing with discrimination and plain sexual harassment.
Too bad this came out now. Had it been on rastakhans instead it would have been crazy to see how much value you can get out of overkill cards.
But this card is definitely good. A nice way to trigger frenzy and related mechanics because that's absolutely the problem with frenzy related cards in warrior right now. On top of that it can also just clear the board depending on the minion and board obviously.
But to give up a card slot though? Well, we've got kresh, Lord Barov, and depending on the board, Frothing Berserker that can work with this card. Can only get better.
Sure, except in the same expansion druid got one of the best (and perhaps still the best) cards in the game with Ultimate Infestation and Spreading Plague was literally plaguing the entire meta. At that point dk malfurion being most played was really just a no brainer. In a vacuum, there's no doubt that its inferior compared to every other DK except perhaps shaman.
We havent seen hunter, dhunter, and warrior's so heres to hoping.
Also Rogue. I was hoping they'd keep some questlines for the final stream. It would be awesome to have 3 or 4 decks where you actually play the quests and discover what they are as the stream progresses.
Yeah kinda blanked on rogue for some reason.
Team5 does have a habit of saving the best for last, so we'll see in a couple of days which has the honor of being what is considered either the most interesting or best of the lot.
But as for whether its ever worth it? Well, its not to say its completely trash. Its very easy to complete and honestly sticks to the gameplan of actually burning your opponent's face while tanking shots at the same time.
There might be a small glimmer of hope somewhere that we're looking at a tier 2 deck.
The reward can only get better. But for now its likely just not enough relevant cards to take advantage of the reward with.
It also suffers from the fact that Bolner Hammerbeak likely provides the better finisher. But there's no denying that being able to cast your spells twice all the time is game winning.
Well, this one tops the charts of the most underwhelming reward Ive ever seen from a quest.
Is it easy to complete in standard? Well, all you need is just Moontouched Amulet and Feral Rage to basically complete the quest. Combined that with Pounce and Park Panther, that's quite a good deal of damage.
But honestly, this quest seems like a joke. You're skipping a turn with one card less to enable something that doesn't even gain or control tempo never mind win the game. Unless there's something that doubles battlecry for minions, Guff is just never going to actually win you the game other than against burn decks.
I can only trust that playtesting on this thing paints a far different picture that what Im seeing at the moment. Or maybe theres something down the line that makes this OP as hell, because the conditions are very easy to fulfill to be honest.
The mage conditions is poorer by far, Im not disputing that. But have a look at the list of overload cards in standard. Its not really easy fitting them all in your deck because they don't all play to the same gameplan. Realistically we're looking at perhaps 6 out of 13 so that makes it 12.
Just speculation of course. I wouldn't know whats in team5's head when they decided to make the conditions 8 cards instead of the 9 for everyone else.
As mentioned by YourPrivateNightmare, you basically play bolner, followed with lightning bloom into yshaarj. You only need to have played and corrupt one medic to do this, and then its infinite damage as much as the timer allows.
There's only 13 overload cards in standard right now. Obviously you cant just fit all of them into your deck. Maybe on play testing team5 discovered that you just cant finish this one realistically without discovering a few more overload cards throughout the game so they slightly reduce its requirements at the end when its less likely to matter.
Wonder what is the interaction of this card with Perpetual Flame? Can this one card literally finish the entire quest?
The reward is very strong, game winning potential. The conditions are fair, not really hard to accomplish. But much like warlock's quest, this one suffers a bit from the fact that you're basically using the spells you need to win the game, to complete the quest. So even after everything's said and done, what spells do you have left to actually finish the game with?
Perhaps there more down the line that will help with this one. But for now, the only reward I'm looking at that's actually worthwhile is the first one, which unlocks your mana crystals.
Not going to lie. That Ysharaaj combo with Bolner Hammerbeak looks better than this one.
On paper it really looks worse than Teacher's Pet which not only comes with a taunt but also a extra random beast, which is nearly always more aggressive than a couple of spiders, poisonous or not.
The fact is that your opponent will always be killing this thing and removing the spiders to deny you the removal option kinda makes this a soft taunt but not really. Any minion past the first 3 turns must need to be either very aggressive or defensive because hunters cant really afford to play what amounts to skipping turns too often.
I really like stuff like these, but Im afraid its kinda a bit too slow for hunter, even for slower hunters. Slight synergy with Trueaim Crescent to hard remove three minions from your opponent's board. But then what? The very point of hunter's play style, slow or no, is to stick stuff on board or kill outright. And this one does none of those.
Oh but it is a tradeable card. That's got to count for something. Still, I really wished this one had rush at very least, even with a smaller body.

Lol, I swear this was a response to a now deleted post.
It wouldn't work sadly, because immune makes them untargetable if Im not mistaken.

It has tradeable, so its by default a decent card to a class that can barely draw.
But as for the minion itself? Just play Teacher's Pet, a better minion in nearly all scenarios.
Burn druid. Well that's something new I guess.

I like the paladin quest. So far that's the only one I have hope for honestly.
The rest are either too slow, too convoluted, or much like the recent druid reveal, bizarrely too weak.
We havent seen hunter, dhunter, and warrior's so heres to hoping.

Its likely an aggro card rather than something you'd stick into deathrattle dhunter.
But really, it looks bad. Unless theres more ways to shuffle copies back into your deck, its never really going to see much play.
