  • Similar effect and even statline to mana cost ratio with Plated Beetle, but these cards serve different purposes. Beetle was a mana curve card for slower decks to help fight aggro, but as far as the Thickhide Kodo goes, it's a midgame board centric card, but the 3/5 statline has fallen out of favor, otherwise Sen'jin Shieldmasta would still see play.

I'm not saying Thickhide Kodo is hopeless, but it probably won't even replace Teacher's Pet unless the meta is insanely aggressive.

  • Taunt isn't as good as Lifesteal imo, but Thorngrowth Sentries is still the replacement for Dreamway Guardians.

  • Why didn't Blizzard let Trolden reveal this card since Celestial Alignment should give him enough content for at least 5 videos on its own?

  • Not as good as Twin Slice, but considering that card was borderline broken, it makes Fury (Rank 1) still very viable.

  • For now, Razorboar is pretty inconsequential. Even the best case scenario of pulling Razorfen Beastmaster feels very mediocre.

  • DH lost their best token pay-offs in Nethrandamus and Wrathscale Naga. Without those, Vile Call lost a bit of its power in being able to help stabilize your health before your big token comboes. Still a decent card on its own, though.

  • Deathrattle DH looks pretty mediocre right now, but it can work and i'd guess it's thanks to this card, mostly because it fuels the whole archetype.

  • So, if you're winning, Crossroads Watch Post is a small insurance policy against AoE. That's the only thing I see that can give it some use.

  • Chef Nomi saw play and his effect was also back breaking as you had to basically spend you mana to destroy your deck. I'm not saying Kargal Battlescar is amazing, I'm just saying he's not the worst thing ever.

And to the WoW guys around: are there any watch posts in alliance settlements? If there are, that could mean these watch post thingys aren't just a one and done deal.

  • I feel like Mor'shan Watch Post can be used against minion based tempo decks the way Ogremancer can be used against spell based tempo decks, as a tech to make them bleed. Not amazing, but nor terrible.

If anything, against minion decks, he's like a 3/5 Taunt with an upside.

  • For aggro lists, I don't see this as a 1 mana 9 damage, that's on turn 10 and if you're on turn 10, you lost. I see this as a 1 mana Fireball on turn 5, that's where you want that sweet burst to the face.

  • Ah, so this is why Circle of Healing isn't in the core set.

  • Powerful cost reduction effect, but it's a late game one. You need to combo into this and only then into your other combo cards. Not saying Scabbs Cutterbutter, he looks powerful, but I don't feel rogues will have their entire gameplan around him.

  • Don't put all your chips into this weapon, it'll just get oozed away, especially if rogue keeps being top tier.

  • Do me trade? Nope!
    Me go face? Yup!
    Me retard? Nope!
    Me am smart? Yup!

  • I feel like Warrior should get at least 2 more Frenzy minions in the expansion alone. Not only that, there's also the mid-expansion mini set that could give us extra synergies for this card.

As for the Frenzy minions already revealed, I believe the best target for Overlord Saurfang to ressurret might actually be Razormane Raider of all things. Blademaster Samuro's extra AoE is probably too small for 7 mana, Warsong Envoy gains a lot of attack but is mostly just an Ice Rager in terms of stats and Barrens Blacksmith is powerful but is just not as fast as a 5 random damage burst Razormane Raider provides. Sure, Razormane Raider sucks, but he's the fastest effect in here.

  • While Vengeful Spirit does feel a bit clunky on four mana, he can fish out the targets of Razorfen Beastmaster on curve. All in all, deathrattle DH appears to be a pretty interesting midrange option, even if we don't have the deathrattles for it right now.

  • This is strong. Even if the Deathrattle pool we have right now isn't that impressive, even pulling out 2 Fishy Flyers and a Renowned Performer is an insane tempo swing with 11 fast damage scattered through 3 bodies that will leave a lot of board presence behind and refill your hand.

While I'm not sure Death Speaker Blackthorn will be top tier imediately, because DH doesn't have the top tier deathrattles for it right now, I can expect him to have at least a bit of time under the spotlight over the two years he'll be in standard.

  • Plaguemaw the Rotting's effect is very flashy, but it's just a win more effect. I can expect heavy trial with this card, and people "barking at the wrong tree" a lot, but a win more card is just a win more card.

That being said, if you manage to stick in guy on board and have him survive even for just one turn, he will instantly win you the game a lot of times.

  • Dreaming Drake loves this. After playing Razormane Battleguard, I believe Dreaming Drake will be corruptible by 2 mana cards making it insanely easy to stick a 1 mana 5/6 Taunt. Not only that, since Razormane Battleguard discounts Taunts, the opponent will most likely have to go through the Taunt before killing him, making Razormane Battleguard surprisingly sticky.
