As someone who hadn't even heard of the game until Kara, I welcome the chance to get a new card back that I couldn't otherwise. It's annoying that there's an entire section of card backs that I can't ever fill, so I'm glad they were considerate enough to give us a shot who haven't been around since the start. After all, it's not out fault. Looks like a cool story transition as well, what happens between the sets.
I wouldn't even say they were oversexualized, given the purpose of a succubus, it's just the right amount of "sexualized". I never even noticed it on the harpy or secretkeeper, although I'll admit that their new art does fill the space better from a composition standpoint. I don't know about anyone else, but none of these ever aroused me in the slightest. It's not really any worse than a lot of people choose to wear in real life anyway.
Why should we have to abide under the rules of China? I refuse to bow to them as Hearthstone overlords, lol. I guess it would be hard to manage two sets or art for different countries, but I'm sure it could be done. At least we'll have records of the art in books and sites like this.
The next xpac looks amazing to me, and the patch looks like it'll add or fix a nice amount of stuff, but, but why the card art changes? Are these responses to some people complaining about succubus card images or something? They are a legit and essential warlock pet in WoW lore. I'll bet the other ones involved removing blood or something as well. I guess that's ok, but I don't see anything wrong with the way they were before either. If any art is going to get changed, it should be for those early cards like Gruul that have art of the wrong character on them in the first place.
While we're waiting for official card design contests to become a feature on this site, I propose a little design game. I'm loving the art-based challenge in another thread, but I wish to offer an alternative challenge. It seems that a lot of cards, both in the game and in people's custom creations, are created from scratch for Hearthstone. There's nothing wrong with this, of course, as Hearthstone is it's own fun, lighthearted entity and has a distinct identity from it's parent World of Warcraft. However, I do enjoy going back to the roots of the lore and theme and therefor issue a challenge to design spell cards named after-- and with a similar effect to-- actual spells from that game.
Here are the rules:
1. The spells may be taken from any point in Wow's history including talents. Enemy or boss-unique spells are also allowed.
2. The name must be exact and the effect reflective to what the spell does in the game.
3. Each submission will consist of one card and the choice of category for the next submission. (ie, picking a class for the spell to be from, a talent, from X expansion, from X dungeon/raid, etc.)
4. Art is ideally of Warcraft directly, but other fantasy art is acceptable as long as it shows a fantasy-type picture in a related art style that demonstrates the spell's effects well, (ie, no photos or cartoons/anime please)
To demonstrate, here is my own concept of the pally spell "Cleanse Toxins".
Next submission must be a warrior ability. Have fun everyone. :)
Yeah, they did a good job this round of not letting us get bored by spacing out the content enough. I kept looking to the next week instead of waiting till the next month, which I overall prefer I guess.
Frankly, flavor is the reason I play this game in the first place, lol. I agree that this is going to be perhaps my favorite version of the "treasure hunter and adventure" flavor we've had yet. I don't even care how good or bad the cards are, although I'm sure we have the chance at getting a cool new related mechanic.
I personally enjoy this as a side card game to Hearthstone, mainly because I like the mystery, variety, and craziness of Elder Scrolls lore. You ever looking for someone to play with, hit me up sometime.
I like the look of this, and I think I might already have all the cards. I'd like to give it a shot, but I'm not sure how this deck code stuff works. Anyone care to give me a crash course or point me in the right direction?
And I'm guessing that any reveals will be up on this sight very quickly after they are shown, so I think I'll just wait for that.
I think there should be a picture of the reward here for proper rating purposes.

"He's the leader of the pack, so quick he seems to be everywhere at once. Only problem is he forgot to level up his beastmaster skills."
must be warlock minion with demon tribe
must have the word shivarra in the title
must somehow reflect either their charisma or role as priests of the burning legion.

For those with faith, The Light can protect from drowning, but it hasn't been upgraded enough to be any good at keeping out the cold.
must be priest card and focus on the mount
Oooo, I like this idea. :thumbsup

In that case, I'll take up the torch. Let's see outland get a little love here. Must be a shaman minion.
Excellent puns, lol. I love it. Can't see the art for the next card though. Not sure if this is just me or not.

"Hey, gems take time to craft. Wait your turn Buster"
"Just add water and stand back...."
Must have both Deathrattle and Silence as effects in some fashion.

" Collectors will pay a pretty penny for this bird's colorful plumage, but they don't consider them worth any other kind of pretty coin "
Picture isn't showing up.
