I just realized they turned Iceborn into a slow spell??? Not even fast? WTF are they thinking, its stated as a buff... but this is actually a BIG nerf, might even kill the card completely =/
They buffed LOTS of cards that i run in my spider token OTK deck!!! I managed to reach rank Master 35 with it last month... i wouldn't be surprised if token spider becomes a S tier deck now.
Rekindler Garen is currently a S tier deck variation born from the Fiora Barrier deck.
Its going to stay top tier until: 1- Rekindler gets nerfed; OR 2- A better variation arises; OR 3- A big change in meta due to buffs delivered to other cards.
I am a bit worried if they decide to buff Khalista tbh. I believe the problem is that her statline doesn't synergises with her level up requirement.
She has Fearsome 4/2 stats, which implies its an agressive card; but her upgraded form requires that she survives for a while, which its a bit counterproductive, since the optimal way to level her up is to simply don't attack with her and watch your other minions trade, as this will also protect her bound. But playing Khalista this way is suboptimal as her stats are bad for a defensive card, also sitting at 2 heath she is very easy to remove with spells.
Khalista doen't really needs a buff: Riot should just rework her stats to be a defensive card OR another level up requirement to match her agressive stats.
The confusion is only in your mind. Just think skills as fast spells and you are good. In any case, this is how it works in 3 steps:
1- Activation: When activated (by either playing, summoning or attacking), the skill goes right away to the priority list at the center to be carried away. The activation step cannot be negated.
2- Reaction: Once there, for all game purpouses, its treated exactly as a fast spell, and as such, IT DOESN'T CARE for the source from where it came from. The oponnent now will be given a chance to react, and this step continues until both players confirm there is nothing else to be done.
3- Resolve: Once both players pass their turn without doing any action, the list resolves from left to right order.
Bonus: The only way to deny skills is to play the Ionian spell "DENY" OR to make the Skill TARGET invalid (not the source).
Elusives are countered by Challenger Units, the barrier/Fiora deck does it quite nicely. That being said, not every faction has acess to good challenger units, Elusive Freljord is still the best deck at the moment. Solitary Monk is also a bit too strong in strategies that can use the spell mana pool efficiently.
Relentless Pursuit has the same problem as the old deny at 3 had: It can't be punished by just sitting at 3 spell mana, waiting for the perfect turn until the oponnent can be finished off. Expect it to be nerfed in the near future.
this game doesnt seem too different than hearthstone or mtg. its not like im starting from scratch with zero card game experience.
Friend, the spell mana pool mechanic is what makes this game VERY interesting and different from every other card game i played over the last 22 years.
I consider Hearthstone to be THE WORST card game atm. If you can't see the clear difference between LOR and HS then you have A LOT to learn on how to play Runeterra.
At Diamond+ a lot of decks can finish games by Turn 5 thanks to the new "Relentless Pursuit" abuse. Oddly enough, Heca might even be a bit too slow for the current meta.

Brood Awakening at 5 is going to be NUTS!
When you suceed, your victory will be short lived once realized you can't block anymore

They probably intended to double nerf it first, but then realized the 9 mana was enough, then too lazy to change the text back.
Here it is buddy, i am actually surprised it turned out WAY better then expected. Corina wins games by herself.

Any swarm/agro and even combo decks counter Frostbite decks.
Any cheap spells that buff your minions (Mark of the island /Elixir / Back to Back / Stand Alone / etc) wreck frost spells
Any Fast Spell that does enough damage or instantly kill or cc minions counter Frost spells
Purify completely removes frozen status

The animations and interactions are still the same, interest to know why do you feel its any less epic now?
Some animations (like when Thresh lvl up for example) even got improved!

Yes
Lucian/Sena is actually quite good and i've seem it quite often as a rogue deck at high ranks to counter Ionian decks.
Its very weak vs Ez and Shadow Island control thou.
Ionia, Isles, Freljord - done
Noxus - 10
At the very least, Hecarim needs to lose Overwhelm as stated OR has his stats changed from 4/6 to 3/6 OR 4/4.
Also just keep in mind Hecarim is a terrible card when not attacking or behind.

At Bronze everything kinda works, as most people there don't even have all the cards to build any consistent deck.
Metagame is in a really good place right now.
