  • I like how Team 5 is moving away from super-specific card text. It really makes me appreciate the digital format.

  • So far, I believe the only worthwhile frenzy minions would be Barrens Blacksmith and Razormane Raider. I like this card and expect to see it and other frenzy cards take up the slots that will be empty after rotation in Enrage Warrior. If it still can squeeze into the meta after losing Bloodsworn Mercenary.

  • I think the problem with these is that you are spending mana to do nothing until your opponent does. A meta in which these are playable will be board-centric, and if you get behind playing a 4/6 is going to get you to lose the game.  Of course, you will have other minions, but these are dead draws otherwise.  I also think that it is better to wait and see to make a decision, but given the current context of cards being printed, I think these cards are terrible. These could be released right now, and they would not have a lasting impact after the weekends.

Also, I think you have overrated Ogremancer, lol. I might have missed it, but I have not seen that guy pop in HSreplay or anywhere else before.

Edit: Thank you, TIL that Ogremancer wasn't packfiller.

  • I'm not sure about the worst legendary (in a long time), but I have to agree that this is pretty bad. Unless a really awesome watch post gets printed, this card will be too slow. If a really awesome watch post does get printed, I imagine you would just put it into an aggro/midrange deck and skip this and the others.

  • I like them, and they don't feel so out of place considering how many gem/ore-related things there are in HS. My biggest concern is that using a pre-order hero and a diamond card will get me called a whale one day.

  • You do not need to own every single card at once. You can craft a card, dust it, and use that to craft whatever else you are missing from the set.

  • It is okay at rank 2, but at rank 3 you could make the argument that unleash the beast is better. Not that it matters, since it isn't in standard anymore.

  • Quote From meisterz39

The series has been around for 25 years, but as an RPG it really still caters to the youngest audiences for the game, with fairly simplistic mechanics, easy bosses, etc., and very little new or different from game to game. That's fine, of course, and gives a new audience their Pokemon experience every few years, but there are tons of richer RPG titles for people who have aged out of that and want a more challenging experience. Pokemon shows no real interest in aging up with its older fans.

With that in mind, it's hard for me to get excited about a Pokemon remake. It plays on nostalgia to sell games to people for whom the game is certainly too easy today. As much nostalgia as I have for Pokemon, today the experience feels worn out.

I agree. I am going to buy the game simply because it is a Pokemon game and it makes me feel nostalgic. The ancient experience doesn't bother me very much, and that might be because of all the MMOs I have played. My biggest issue with the game is the weird toy like graphics and the console itself. If I ever have an RPG itch to scratch my go to series isn't Pokemon. I would play Baldur's Gate or Divinity: Original Sin.

  • I do not think the minion healing aspect of this card will be very relevant. How often do you trade overtime into a big minion against priest? Rarely because priest can also heal their minions. You would have to trade everything into it in one turn.

  • I wonder if it was necessary to make it take up a secret slot. I feel like the mechanic would be better as an aura. Or, at the very least it could have it own symbol instead of the triggered effect symbol.

Edit: Of course, sigils taking up a secret slot will make no difference because DH doesn't play any secrets, but with the new secret tech it may be debilitating. I also just dislike the way it looks in the photo. I still think its a cool mechanic.

  • It reminds me of Warframe, a game which will always be in beta.

  • Every popular game has it's doomsayers. From Fortnite to Fallout, there are always a group of people who cannot help but to complain. It is the one of the few things I have seen consistent in every game, competitive or casual.

  • I disagree. I do agree that the intended weakness of highlander decks is that they are supposed to be less reliable than normal decks, but the problem is that it doesn't matter when there are multiple cards that do similar things. Zephyrs itself being one of the strongest individual cards that can give you the perfect card when you need it also helps to nullify this issue.

Look at this decklist. According to Tempostorm, it is a tier 2 highlander warlock deck. The deck isn't hurting from consistency issues at all.

Edit: I was having issues with the decklist so I added the link here:

  • the only buffs I dislike are Alex and golem. I feel like Highlander strategies are the most boring, bland, and overall reliable decks. I am going to dislike running into so many. The golem buff is whatever to me. Wolfrider didn't see much play so I doubt that +1 attack with a huge drawback will either. I do expect to see it a lot, but drop off once the meta settles.

  • When DH was released, I was apprehensive to the idea of a new class. At this point, I have accepted it and look forward to Monks and DKs being added. My only concern with the inclusion of monks is how they would make it unique because monk is the least interesting class (imo). It is like a jack-of-all-trades class, but they are worse than druid.

Edit: I mean they are the least interesting class in WoW. If you are curious there are three specs for monks: brewmaster (tank), windwalker (dps), and mistweaver (healer). I personally think druid does it better because it can tank, heal, do ranged and melee dps, and more. Also you get to be a dinosaur if you play as a zandalari troll, which is inherently cooler than being a weird fat panda.

  • These cards didn't break wild before they were nerfed so I doubt they will break it now. I guess you could make an argument for Even Shaman making a comeback, though.

  • I doubt the card being un-nerfed is going to create any aggro paladin decks. At least, not decks any better than odd paladin. When the card was new it was used in aggro, but ever since it's nerf it has been historically used as a draw engine in combo decks.

  • I appreciate the re-cap, as always.

    I disagree with this statement:

    • If everyone is talking about one deck being overpowered, chances are that it is. If everyone is talking about *their* deck being overpowered, we are probably doing something right.

I feel like the majority of players who do not even reach diamond 5 have too much of a influence on balance.

I wish I ask could a question but I feel like the subreddit is too casual for any in-depth conversation. Sometimes it even feels a little whiny. I remember the community being the last straw for me leaving Hearthpwn, too.

  • Unrelated but when I was new to the game I thought the white paint was his skull and the red paint was blood. Like he had totally lost his face.

  • That skin is so nice. Had I known the last few rogue skins released were going to be so nice I would have chosen a different hero from the battlepass
