I find that post by Team 5 pretty delusional: they've stated things that they couldn't keep up with in the first place while also wondering on a "dangerous" argument. Why putting label on each class, when no one asked for them? Players have asked for ages to shake up those same identities in some way because in the long run that kind of mentality was locking each class into some predictable (and than boring) style.
They've made such a long and pointless explanation to just end up saying that Vanish and Mind Blast don't fit what they think are Rogue's and Priest's themes, so they're moving them to the HoF. Why they cannot wrote down the gameplay reasons behind that choice, as they've always done before, while giving us real insights and datas on that?
On top of that they've tried to justify how terrible almost all of the new cards are by repeating the same old mantra about "controlling the powerlevel of Basic and Classic because they don't rotate", while deciding in the exact same moment to push into Basic and Classic new cards after having moved out so many of them. Instead of this in/out things at random moments, they should instead thinking of completly rework the idea of a fixed amount of cards for Standard.
Considering that this should replace Mind Blast, it's totally a big loss for Priest. Another nerf that I don't understand since the class is already in a pretty bad spot both on Standard and Wild.
With Mind Blast moving to Wild, the final nail in Priest's coffin has been set. And in exchange it gets a renamed/nerfed Flash Heal (that I doubt will ever see play). So sad.
I've almost totally left Standard long ago, but I cannot find a single reason why they're keeping overkilling Priest.
Since Blizzard has decided to start buffing cards, it has become much more risky to dust clearly bad legendaries and epics. The most safe solution is to target a couple of classes that you dislike as general playstyle and use them has your "dust deposit", disenchanting only cards from them.
A couple Seasons ago I've got some pretty results with this: AAEBAf0GCIDHApTHArjQApfTApz4AqCAA4+CA/CGAwvQBPcEzgfUswK8tgKRxwLnywLO6QLShgPWhgOvjQMA
It's not cheap at all, but you can make it work well even without Lakkari Sacrifice and Lord Godfrey, filling it with 2x Flame Imp. All the other legendaries and epics are almost always core cards that can hardly be replaced.
I would love a construcred format with a monthly rotation of 3 different sets each time, like the actual Brawl but on Ladder. It will bring so much freshness both on gameplay and deckbuilding.
I think you just contradicted yourself there, at least partly. You were a Priest main, but abandoned it, because you found it lackluster. You didn't dig into BP, even if you could.
I played Big Priest in different forms in the hope to find something interesting, but I failed: that archetype is awfully boring and pretty brainless. I changed class because other archetypes of Priest are not even close to Tier 2 in the actual meta. In order to play a control or combo deck I've turned to something else, not without sadness.
About the BP's population what I was trying to say is that it is dominating the entire Priest's popultion in Wild: almost everyone that is actually playing Priest, is doing so with Big Priest. If you want to use the class for a climb, you don't have many choice: go Big or prepare for an awfull time on Ladder.
Sorry if I wasn't very clear, but I don't "main" english :(
Considering that OoC is absolutlye new, it needs all the spotlight it may gather and a prominent streamer (even if he's not a dedicated HS one) is indeed a good thing.
I don't really understand how people can wrote down such thing like "consipracy" theories and the like. Get over it dudes and chill out.
I would love if they'll implement a new format, alongside with Standard and Wild, that has a monthly rotation of sets (like the Arena) for constructed. It could be so much fresh and entertaining.
While actually there are only discussions about HS and MTG, creating a big section with inside a MTG subforum and a single other box where each card game can at last have its own topic, is a solution that cannnot do any arm to the board while instead keep an open door also for other users or discussions.
Also, I don't think that it's much of an hard work to implement that (but I don't know, I'm just arguing).
They should probably create new format instead just Standard and Wild, like MTG (but not so many), using different kind of set for each one so that everyone can play what they enjoy the most.
Readding old set to Standard may be good for Arena but not for Ladder: the meta is already pretty boring as it always has been in Standard, no need to see again old strategies and combos from the past years.
So sad to see an entire group made of only 1 class (and more specific only one kind of deck). The whole tournament was played by 3 classes out of 9: basically 2/3 of HS is unplayable at top competitive levels.
While they're similar in general mechanics (bouncing things), Pogo is totally missing the speed of Quest: you could play Crystal Core by turn 5 or 6 so often that it was a real pain to deal with an horde of charging 5/5 so frenquently on Ladder. At last Pogo is much slower.
Big Priest is almost the only viable deck for the class in Wild: there is no other archetype that have a decent win rate for the class. Reno Priest and Dragon are worst and others variant are plain terrible (VS report April-May 2019). People play Big Priest because it's the only deck you can play to have a decent climb with the class (at last until Rank 5, while from there aggro decks are make it harder to have a smooth run).
People don't play Big Priest because it's fun or because they want to slap their opponents in the face with a meme/meta deck (of course someone want that, but I think that they're just few), but because it's the only choice if you want to play as Priest. It's also pretty simple to play, so even a novice can reach a decent Rank with it without much efforts.
Actually the popularity of Big Priest is so high because the whole class is missing a good alternative. Priest has almost always lacked a decent finisher, leaving each archetype a less than effective deck. The only exception were Razakus (that deserved a nerf, but imho it was a bad one) and Dragon midrange (when they printed Drakonid Operative when midrange decks were strong archetypes for many classes). If Blizzard will never print a decent win condition, Priest will always remain an "attrition" class that can just stall the game exhausting its opponent resources while hoping they won't find their own finisher. The old Inner Fire + Divine Spirit combo has never been too good on the Wild Ladder.
If they're going to kill Big Priest, then the whole class will probably be kicked out from Tier 1 and 2 on Wild (I don't really know the Standard meta since I don't play it).
I was a Priest main, but I've turned away from the class since it's plain terrible how Devs have decided to just leave it in such an awfull condition for so much time. To properly play control while being at last competitive I've choose Warlock and I've discovered how it's so more structured under every aspect. The gap between the two is so plain that it's almost painfull.
While I agree on almost all of those suggest buffs, improving Classic it's something that goes in the opposite direction of having Hall of Fame: as already stated many time by Blizzard, Classic should be good but not too much otherwise each new expansion set's card will see little play because many decks will always run the same 10-15 Classic cards no matter what.
Imho, the cards you mentioned are "bad" for a design choice and for the explicit will of keeping them as an alternative for players missing certain new cards, without being themselves a must have.
While the flavor is all there (good job!), some of them will be unplayable at best: Hyerophant Green it's almost a dead card in late game unless it will be able to target also the enemy hero and Metallica won't even have sense since Warlock's HP is to draw a card.
Also, Dio Brando is sad because you didn't put his Za Wardo :(

Naxx and LoE have many decent cards for Wild that are still played nowdays regularly.
Other Adventures are not so interesting and you should probably just craft what you need instead of buying them all.
If those are what they think are Priest' strenght, than it's no surprise the current state of the class.

Baldur's Gate the Complete Saga, so you'll be ready for when Baldur's Gate 3 will be gifted to us mortals.
Or Hollow Knight to get ready to Silksong's release.
