When it comes to the flavor I think it's fine as-is for the most part (although you are tripping on Fan of Knives's toes a bit). My one concern is how strong the card is. I'm not saying it's too good, but this could stand-in for Inner Demon, or go further and become a Pyroblast. That just seems too...I don't know, reliable for a 1-mana Rare? Too versatile? Maybe it should be an Epic.

Furthermore, i assume it is still worth holding on to Classic packs, so that new Priest and Demon Hunter cards are released first.
It should be live for everyone when the update reaches them, yes.
Also, the new Priest cards are coming right alongside this update, so there's no need to wait. Demon Hunter has not been added into the Classic set yet: that will happen some time in the future, when they pull cards from the Initiate set and elsewhere to create the "Classic" set for the DH.
I had a fear that this would happen after Underlight Angling Rod was revealed, but I hoped the weapon was a strange one-off card. Alas it was not to be. We just cannot escape the damn Murlocs.
The only unfortunate thing about this card is that it apparently must be in your hand to upgrade the effect. Knowing my luck I'll have blown through all of my minions by then, only to be left with an 8/8 and two Wisps :/
It has an immediate impact on the board and leaves behind a big guy for your opponent to have to deal with next turn. This is definitely one of the better "big demons" in this set.
It's a Naga, not a Demon :P Sadly won't be able to combo him with the likes of Raging Felscreamer.
These are the three cards I'm thinking of sending. I'm most keen on Kara, but I made her a bit weak in my opinion, but that is because I'm a huge fan of Dr. Primestone on Hearthcards gallery, who reduces the cost of all cards with all number on them being prime. For the tournament purposes, this should be buffed a bit, considering there are mostly mediocre Demons after Year of the Dragon outside of Demon Hunter.
I like Kara, but one of the primary weaknesses of the Demon Hunter is supposed to be card generation. She kind of spits in the face of that, by creating not one but three Demons to add into your deck. If you're okay with splashing outside the DH's comfort zone a little then that's fine, but it's something to take into consideration.
Abandon Soul has one too many Ds. I like this card because it brings enemy minions down to a level where the DH can kill them with a weapon, making for a more Control-y vibe. It is, however, incredibly weak compared to Hunter's Mark, even after that card was nerfed. If we're talking one-to-one in terms of usage, that is.

This seems fine; good, even. It follows the whole Explorer concept of having only one keyword + the Battlecry. It might be a little obvious and/or plain, but it's still a fine idea

Honorary mention to Maiev Shadowsong, who I think might become ubiquitous if given the right meta. She could become a "need" rather than a want.
