You'd think that with a name like that you'd get some ruination style board wipe or at least an obliterate effect instead it's just a more expensive Avalanche.
It's not a big issue or anything, it's just that when Targon got it first set, people experimented with the new cards for a few weeks before realizing that Bilgewater decks were still the best and when Shurima got it first set. people experimented with the new cards for a few weeks before realizing that Aphelios/Zoe and Twisted Fate/Fizz were still the best deck. It's not until the deck from the previous meta got nerfed that the new cards managed to shine.
I just don't wanna see our first worlds being dominated by Sivir mirror matches that's all. Hopefully the pattern won't repeat itself this time.
I don't see how this is degenerate, it has a good summon effect but you don't even get to choose which unit get "can't block" and you are paying 5 mana for an understate unit that's easy to remove, even the last breath effect isn't that powerful since the unit you get is ephemeral.
If a landmark finish it's countdown would that count toward Xerath's level up? Because the countdown keyword description does say " Round Start: Count down 1. At 0, destroy the card with Countdown and activate the effect."
If that's the case leveling Xerath would be very easy and you got yourself a powerful removal machine on board.
The first card that comes to my mind when seeing this is Mistwraith, with an effect that is much harder to trigger but with a much bigger payoff since your also gaining health. That can potentially put them beyond the range of anti-aggro removal like Avalanche, I really want to experiment with this one.
A bit hard to evaluate the initial 2/1 for 3 is pretty bad, but with proper set up it can potentially trigger the effect of one of the new landmarks and give one your overwhelm unit's 4/2 which is devastating.
Solid removal spell that also trigger the new landmarks effects. In many ways it reminds me Ground Slam it won't fit into every Shurima deck but it will work well in landmarks centric one.
I suppose, it's just to me the whole appeal of mono Shurima is the level 3 ascendant is if I just wanted to play with Azir, Nasus or Renekton there are other deck that can use them better.
For anyone who is not necessarily looking for the level 3, then yeah these cards will be a nice addition to that deck.
Xerath and his followers are looking to be pretty powerful but I don't think you run him in a mono Shurima deck despite being ascendant. With so many Fearsome/Overwhelm unit who can grow even bigger, I am pretty sure that you will be able to reliably finish the game before restoring the sun disc.
Nami now that's a champion that I haven't see in a while. It looks like she is going to be playing more of a supportive role, not my favorite type of gameplay but it fit's her.
More importantly it looks like Ahri is going to be the Ionian champion.
Everyone is allowed to express their opinion and said opinion can be criticized by everyone.
The whole "the champion gameplay is not what expected so it suck" is not what I would call feedback.
Saying that that Sion is Draven 2.0 because they revolve around the discard mechanic don't make any sense, it's like saying the Rek'Sai is Pyke 2.0 because they both have lurk. Draven function as an early game pressure unit who's role is to get good trades and generate some value while doing so. Sion is the opposite he is late game finisher, he is meant to be discarded early game to buff himself and allies then played late game to finish the enemy with big overwhelm attacks. if anything they look to synergies well with one another.
I am not here to make fun of anyone but if disagree with some statement I am gonna say it. And I won't be telling anyone to shut up because they criticize something I said.
When Tristana got released people complained about her not being nothing like her league counterpart, now they released a champion who is similar to his league iteration people are complaining about him being tied to discard mechanic . It's just complaining for the sake of complaining at this point.

No balance patch until October 20? That's not a good idea.

Is this the card that's finally going to make Malphite viable? One can always hope.
Depending on how frequently you can trigger it's effect this card has the potential to become a finisher which pretty insane for a 3 drop.
Good stat line for a 5 drop and potentially draw 2+ cards. Pretty solid.

It will be hilarious to play this after an opponent The Ruination.

Wait you play mono Shurima on the ladder? Respect man.
I tried to do so and... let's just say that I got eviscerated would be an understatement.

It looks like another take on Go hard.

I was not excited by a Noxian champion since Swain got released during Rising Tides.
Sion and his followers are looking great and there is some interesting decision to be made ( Do you play the unit's or discard them for their effect).
I am also glad that they gave him and his followers overwhelm and not impact.
