However, I did run several optimized decks which efficiently add progress to the completion of multiple achievements simultaneously but do not necessarily have great success for climbing the Wild ranked ladder.
I never care much about that latter aspect though, since I mostly do achievement hunting on rank floors and afterwards there usually is sufficient time to still reach Legend with some high tier meta decks.
Offended? No, because that is too strong of a word choice for me personally. Semantics aside, to open the Hearthstone app and seeing the Hearthstone game mode does feel truly weird, almost like opening a Matroesjka doll. They probably could have chosen a more suitable word like: Constructed.
Lots of steps indeed, but timewise pales in comparison with the requirements to obtain Lady Liadrin; to reach level 20 in World of Warcraft using a new character. I had never played a single second of WoW before and neither after collecting this hero portrait.
Same here, finally allowing us to select from all 10 heroes is a welcome change and long overdue. Especially for casual mode where there are no stakes in play for F sake. I never understood why they did not allow us to play this game mode as we would like to.
Also, banning cards when deckbuilding which still show up in loot buckets (or being discoverable) is inconsistent and illogical IMO.
I am currently in the midst of having to retire 10 times already and still my desired hero is not showing up for me to select. What a total waste of my time. I normally do not complain a lot, but this horrible hero selection streak is just pissing me off at this moment.
I had the exact same observations as you did and I have also no clue whatsoever what needs to be done to solve the second puzzle. Perhaps the WOW Secrets team had more luck in figuring things out and report back to us with hopefully good news. Seems like this puzzle is slight more complex even when compared to the first one because it has been quite silent since the server hotfix went live.
I just reached 900 wins with Demon Hunter which means the light at the end of the tunnel has become visible to me. I can almost taste the bitter sweet victory and finally collect the awesome Demonic Illidan hero portrait. My motivation to complete this long run is now greater than ever before. I am so hyped!
See you when I cross the finish line in approximately two more weeks! 🏁
I reached level 87 and I have finished all of the Stormwind achievements in the meantime. I think most of us here agree that the current meta is not really enjoyable. This has to be the earliest into a new expansion that I have felt this way. I already cannot wait for the upcoming mini-set to arrive and stir up the meta again in a positive way.
I must say that I am not too hopeful if the new Questlines are left untouched by Team 5. Surely, we do not have to wait for them to rotate out to Wild before any Control deck is able to return again in Standard? The Stormwind Questlines have also completely warped the Wild meta and there we do not even have the option of a rotate out solution (sigh).
Current Demon Hunter wins: 847 (+38).
Since I am rapidly closing in on the 1K Demonic Illidan hero portrait, this will be my one and only focus until I achieve it.
It seems like the winrate of this specific build is stabilizing at 69%. We have yet to break the 70% winrate barrier which might still happen, but let us be honest here… 69 is THE best number anyways 😂
Ideally, the game should allow to have a balance between the trifecta of Aggro vs. Combo vs. Control indeed. However, the new questlines have made it impossible for Control players to have any fun at this moment which is not ok at all.
As for the Win 5 games of ranked play mode weekly quest, I just played Questline Druid in Wild 5 times which really kicks the asses out of the other rampant Questline combo decks (solid 69% winrate) and be done with the ladder until the new weekly quests arrive again. Of course, this is still not a Control deck, but it does feel somewhat enjoyable to stomp the current meta decks very efficiently for the 3000 XP (with 20% XP boost). Perhaps you could try to do the same as I did.
The overall winrate of this deck is still increasing, though slower than I expected. Questline Warlocks are still rampant in Wild and its main counter (Odd) Questline Hunter is also frequently encountered. Luckily for us, Questline Druid beat these decks quite easily. Especially now, since some of the Questline Warlocks have dropped the giants which was their only chance to beat us.
In the long past I played Magic: The Gathering and I have many fond memories of that game, but it got really expensive. Also, less and less friends played it which lead me to stop playing as well. I figured out that I liked card games a lot and I was looking for a decent digital replacement/alternative ever since.
Fast forward to 2014, my brother introduced me to HearthStone and I liked the animations and the fact there is a steadily growing mana curve. I did not take the game serious at all and as a noob I dusted my Leeroy Jenkins to craft a freaking Pyroblast. Such ignorance. Then I suddenly stopped playing the game for a few seasons, which is why I missed out on a few of the seasonal cardbacks. It was only since Blackrock Mountain when I really started to play HearthStone seriously.
The fondest HearthStone memory I have was to reach Legend for the very first time with Machine Gun Priest back in January 2018 just before the ranked ladder got revamped. I had noone around me to share this personal milestone achievement immediately with, but it was such an amazing feeling back then and even remembering it now still makes me fill with joy 🥳
I hit level 71 and reached my secondary objective of getting the 20% XP boost. Upcoming minor objectives are to collect the remaining milestone cosmetics: UiS coin + Hero portraits. I collected all cards of the new expansion in the meantime.
My United in Stormwind XP achievements progression is currently at 95%. I only have 2 left to complete, which are:
Spam Caller(0 / 75)
Vengeance Doesn't Come Cheap(85 / 1000)
I am already anxiously waiting for the upcoming nerfs which will hopefully improve and invigorate the meta again.
It seems the population of Questline Warlock in Wild is still massive. The overall winrate of this build improved with another solid 1% since yesterday and keeps them in check.
Roffle is a skilled HS streamer with great insight, but usually plays more meme-y versions of good decks. He prefers having fun over crushing opponents more efficiently.
Although I have not tried these 2 suggestions, I think both Brann Bronzebeard and Questing Adventurer seem like win-more cards in Questline Druid. The Oaken Summons plus Park Panther combination give you armor and puts a rushing minion into play which also supports the questline progression.
The Standard version of Questline Druid runs Mark of the Spikeshell which I really like, but in Wild it is probably not good enough and also considered a win-more card.
In the current meta, the only real weakness of this deck is encountering too many opposing Taunt minions. That is the area where improvements should be found ultimately.
Thanks FrostyFeet, for once again showcasing one of my legend decks!
Much appreciated! 👍🏻
It was really a straightforward (just go face) climb to legend this season because over 50% of the Wild ladder is currently playing Questline Warlock. Questline Druid is really its kryptonite (67% winrate) and also strong against all the other Questline decks. It only does not perform well against Taunt heavy decks.
@Tetsuo; I do not play HS all day 😉

I am looking forward to collect another two T1 and T2 hero portraits in roughly two more weeks. I wonder which ones I should choose this time though?
How is the meta treating you all after the recent nerfs?
This is a prime example of how clueless Team5 is of balancing Duels, really unbelievable. As if there is any downside to this card at all.

Another day and this build gained yet another solid 1% winrate increase. Keep up the good work fellow Druids, stay strong!
Let us see whether the announced nerfs will bring down the Questline Warlock population enough to impact our winrate.

Beware of builds which include Battleground Battlemaster, because getting pummeled by Flesh Giants and Molten Giants with Windfury will still kill us.

Well, I normally would watch some matches in the weekend. Especially if one of my favorite GM's is playing.
However, the current early meta is like playing solitaire which is not really enjoyable IMO.

Confirmed, I completed the Not the face! achievement a few days ago without killing my opponent and totally forgot to report back about this bug.
Kudos, Alfi!
