The right play believe it or not is bounce landmark during swing and I never thought I'd believe that

It should be pretty much impossible to playground if people don't start hard teching landmark removal again

I also want to talk about eternal cards that have gotten a lot better in leu of changing play styles

Specifically mystic shot and thermo

I think playing the game without mystic shot right now is gonna feel a little bad

It's the only decent on curve answer to Samara and with simira being ubiquitous across the best control and best aggro decks in eternal thats no small thing

And obvious late game burn potential etc.

No big brain there

But what does surprise me is the massive increase in thermo value

It used to be that this card was dead as a 3 of in every had ever

But standard has trained players to slap down Champs fearlessly 

Like oh it's p and z let me just vommit out my hand blah

Or no vengence and I've heard of flock and that's in noxious blah and there's their hand

So yeah thermo into 0 deny decks unironically good support removal option right now 

So yeah in this list with the combined best control cards in freij and p and z you can absolutely run thralls without shurima

You can just delay all day with sump, tavern keeper, and blocking with lissandra and spell tutor cuz that's what her real name should be

and if you want to tech anti aggro you have blighted ravine

and you can drop clockling

I've been moving off aoe's lately ever since aggro doesn't look like aggro anymore

People think you run ava because it doubles Corina trigger and they are right but the real reason you run 3 ava is catlyn

Want to know how much dmg she does after 6 puffcaps and 3 flashbombs? Half your life total

So running ava without catlyn is a little sus

Because you want that open attack with Corina backup 50/50

Can you 1) stun/frostbite leveled catlyn 2) hold up the deny mana for Corina

Otherwise you basically have to condense Corina cuz you have 0 attack pressure, and you're literally waving a flag saying don't spend your mana and hold up your deny

So now you're 100% all in on combo and I dont play that way personally it's too...gimmicky? Unreliable? Like what are the chances sump monument keeps you alive? I would personally run sump in the freijord shell, so now we are saying okay you can't kill us with chip dmg and we will frostbite the big stuff

There is that one scenario where you double Corina, or even just get your extra mushrooms. But I'm not gonna allow myself to draw 3

That being said I won't do sump monument or condense as a 3 of when that list is literally 50/50 which I can see based on rationing alone

Just give me decent cards the 3 pokey, the 3 concologist, the 3 thermos I'm fairly confident I can survive with that alone

Every strategy has a weakness and while we can sit here and talk about which Champs are better to suicide is it zillian or is it Sett

The reality is you don't want to be pigeon holed into one play pattern.

Cuzz yeah someone will just Catlyn your face in. I think thats why I like eternal so much its literally impossible to say hmmm this one.broke strategy is so broken it can't be stopped 

Thats a standard thing only.

Now unfortunately this deck is 100% eternal

13 cards out of 40 are rotated

So you won't be seeing thing kinds of results on the "competitive but actually less balanced" format.

But man this is why eternal is fun. You take these dumb unplayable cards like bard like Laurent blade master and together you make them legendary

But then you have to face down 18/18 stats with quick attack across 3 bodies for 0 mana so pick your poison I guess

So I did win fairly easily there with bard garen into karma sett

But  thats because you couldn't buff pitch set

Which is what that deck does

Only Sett doesn't die when you pitch him making him the ultimate close your eyes and swing champ

Meanwhile I fought you tooth and nail for every inch and had a leveled bard

So of course I would win before you could start pitching for value

I dont want to condemn that style of play, which is to say leverage your champions for trade value at any expense.

I will say however that isn't the style of play I enjoy. Naaah I gonna flip, I gonna make 4 mana 7/7 that buffs for 2/2 I gonna do that with bard cuz that's what bard does.

But most would just swing and trade with him all day and that's probably better 90% of the time.
