  • Great deck, and super thorough guide!

I didn't have [Hearthstone Card (Bearon Gla-shear) Not Found] so I added in a Snowball Fight!.

Word to the wise: Bolner Hammerbeak into Snowfall Guardian will end up freezing everyone (Guardian freezes Bolner, then Bolner freezes Guardian).

  • Ok, who has been playing this card already? I'm thinking of crafting him, and want to hear how good he is.

Magma Rager award goes to 4 commons and one legendary: now I know which legendary I'll open in my first 10 packs!

WTF I goddamn called this shit, opened this asshole GOLDEN in my 4th pack! Maybe he'll be good later on? #fml

  • Magma Rager award goes to 4 commons and one legendary: now I know which legendary I'll open in my first 10 packs!

  • I still haven't finished the existing bounties. Any tips for beating General Drakkisath? Dude is kicking my ass, and he isn't even the final boss.

  • Does anyone know when they will switch the Rewards Track to Fractured in Alterac? Last time, they did it a week early, and I'm still pissed about it because I was close to earning a bunch of achievements and thought I had more time. A heads-up would be nice (but also, being able to work on achievements through the actual end of the expansion cycle).

  • This card looks insane. Even if played on curve ("do nothing" turn 4), you then get 2 turns of summoning buffs. HUGE.

  • Isn't every Mercs pack supposed to contain at least one merc? I just opened 5 coins.

  • I know we all like to argue here about game design, card balance, etc, but can we all agree that the people who write and voice the characters in the game are super talented, creative and awesome? I always laugh at some lines, no matter how often I've heard them. I particularly enjoy Tavish's "My beard has FLEAS scarier than you!" and literally every single one of Squeamlish's lines from the Rise of Shadows adventure.

Sure, we've all hated sitting there listening to "Hey loser! ... Wasn't me!" over and over again, but even then it's still pretty funny.

Kudos to Hearthstone's creative writers and actors! I hope some of them see this post.

  • You know what I love? Getting a Merc to level 30, then backing out to the main menu, going to achievements to click the box for the new equipment they earned, then going back into Mercenaries to equip the new item. So many very important steps in the process, much better than just awarding the new equipment right there in the tavern.

I also love completing a task, forgetting to go back to the campfire to claim the reward, then encountering the highly coveted Mysterious Stranger, only to have it evaporate, leaving me 15 stupid coins because "the campfire is full."

  • OTK Pirate Druid incoming with Celestial Alignment, mark my words!

  • What really ticks me off is that every single time I log in, the shop (both in Mercenaries and the main game) has that little red exclamation point icon to indicate a new item, but it's just the same bundles I've already decided not to purchase. Stop trying to push them!

I mean, what am I supposed to do? NOT click the little red exclamation point icon thingy? I'm not insane.

  • Wow, the economy of this game is even worse than I thought. I was already steamed about how hard it is to collect Mercs (see my comment on this article). I bought the Welcome Bundle to try to get at least a few good ones, and feel really ripped off.

I'm awfully frustrated, because I actually really like playing Mercenaries. So far, I've only played PvE since my woeful collection makes me feel like PvP would just stomp me. It would be SO much more fun if collecting Mercs was just a little bit easier. I don't need the full set, just ... not this.

I'm also aware that this is very whiny. I've been a regular spender in the main game, buying every preorder (though rarely anything more than that). That means I have a solid collection and can generally craft cards I want. Is this what it's like to be F2P? I would love to hear from some regular Hearthstone F2Players about how it compares to being F2P in Mercenaries.

  • Today I broke and purchased the Mercenaries Welcome Bundle. One pack contained an alternate portrait for Brightwing (who I already had) instead of one of the many epic Mercs I do not have. WTF? Aren't you only supposed to get alternate portraits if you already own all the Mercs of that specific rarity? I'm feeling pretty cheesed off here.

  • Is it just me, or does playing Mercenaries F2P feel really bad? In regular Hearthstone, if you're F2P and you want a specific card, you can scrape together the dust to craft it, and you can disenchant any cards you don't care for. In Mercenaries, if I want Diablo, for example, and I don't want to spend real money, I'm NEVER going to get him unless I happen to get lucky in a pack. I don't think all the cards should just be available without the investment of resources (whether it's money or time), but saving up 500 coins for that one specific merc you want? It's not going to happen. Why not have a neutral coin system similar to the arcane dust system, so I can use whatever coins I can gather to craft a card I specifically want.

    I want Diablo, btw.

  • I have this same issue. I played Warcraft 1, 2 and 3, but never WoW. Some characters I know are Horde or Alliance, but others? No clue.

I also noticed this issue: every single merc has a tribe, even unique ones (Rexxar is a half-orc). EXCEPT for Gruul. Isn't he a Gronn?

  • If you "abandon" a task, is it supposed to replace it with a new one (like re-rolling daily quests)? I tried this yesterday and the visitor was just gone ... feelsbadman.

  • Why did I earn gold coins for a mercenary I don't own? Seems like a ripoff, or forcing me to craft mercs I may not want.

  • If I'm understanding this correctly, Mercenaries packs might contain COSMETIC items INSTEAD of playable cards? I am not in favor if this at all. I know many players really enjoy cosmetics, but I am not one of them. I like how hero skins and fancy coins are things you can CHOOSE to pay for. That way, I can CHOOSE to spend my in-game currency on things I actually want: playable cards.
