So, I'm Synesthesy, I am a game designer and I have worked on my own TCG for some times now. While the history of my developing is kind of strange, as it usually is when you work with other people, now I have a lot of work done, even if I don't have anything playable right now.

My question is: how many of you would be interested in seeing the developing of a indie game, from the very beginning (getting ideas, market research) to the final outcome? What aspects of this work could be interesting for you to see done or commented on youtube? Do you think this kind of serie can be successfull? Would you watch it?

I didn't play the game for some months for the first time after I started the game, I missed the last 2 expansions and everything between, I just logged back today and apparently nothing has changed, people is still hating the Big Priests :P

It seems to me the same old card game, that try to bring some very good art to cover the fact that the gameplay isn't innovative at all.

    Or am I wrong?

I prefer Hearthstone style of art, after all.

Not to be off topic but what is your thumbnail a picture of @Synesthesy?  Reminds me of this D&D stick only comic.  Cant remember the name of it though.

I didn't know this meaning of this, but I sure agree with this.

However, for me, Pooh is more an old music group than a bear :P

Renounce Darkness is funny with Mecha-Jaraxxus that will say "DARKNESS DELETED!".

However, I used to play it in a Reno Jackson deck as a last resort card, often after having played Lord Jaraxxus. Yes, it was quite a long time ago.

Actually, the card can have a niche as a last resort card: when you have depleted your resources, play it hoping to get more resources. But the fact here is either A) you can build a warlock control deck with almost infinite resources, or B) your warlock deck will have a better win condition than this (Mecha'Thun, Rin, DK Gul'Dan...).

I don't know how strong is warlock late game in standard, but if it isn't enough and the stars align, you could try this card.

The main problem of Lord Jaraxxus is that 15 HP isn't a safe place anymore.

Sacrificial pact should be nerfed, because it's a stupid interaction IMHO. But then again, Lord Jaraxxus would be a weak card.

He needs to be buffed to be playable again: for example, putting his mana cost to (8) would give him the ability to use the hero power the turn he is used, gaining some strenght and becoming nearer to the powerlevel of the other hero cards (all of them have a battlecry of sort).

    Hi,

i recently went from rank 15 to 7 in wild using mech pala and mech hunter. I had 80% winrate.
Now that i'm to rank 7, i lose every game. So, now i'm at rank 9.
It's frustrating knowing that this game is so rigged it has to "change" the cards you draw, well my entire hunter deck is made of cost 1/2 but as always i draw, first turn, only the 5/5 and the cost 4. And it happens just now that i'm there, otherwise i didn't have 80% :)

    Cool game.

Anyway, at rank 7/8/9 to 5, what decks you feel to use? I encounter manly even shaman, or control shaman, or aggro totem shaman :) 9 times in a row shaman :)

In wild you can use whatever you like, but your meta matters a lot. And you can't really expect to find a "standard" meta, exept when some decks are really dominant (pirate warrior, big priest). Maybe you just find some negative match-up. It happens. Or maybe is you that has become tilted and don't play well as you are able to. It happens a lot too.

I suggest to you to take a break whenever a win streak ends, and to play a (fast) deck that you like instead of looking for better recipes.

    Short answer: yes.

Long answer: the guide is the main reason we should read lists. Without the guide we are mindless netdecking bot. With the guide we are intelligent people looking for ideas. And with the guide we are more able to modify the list as we can and as we wish.

Last but not least, I usually write long guides for my lists; I don't know if people enjoy them (almost every deck I have ever written about are without comments), but I did enjoy writing them.

Oh, and remember to add in the end a section for teches and swaps. Expecially budget swaps.

quest druid will probably remain the best standard (and wild) deck for druid for a while

Well standard maybe, but surely not wild :P

Maybe Jade Druid or combo druid (choose you the combo you like most), but surely not quest. Sure you can play it, but wild is a different world and you would play it very different then standard....

Except wild Jade druid uses the quest (at least I saw not one without the quest) because it turns your Jade Idols into Summon a Jade golem and shuffle three copies of this into your deck.

It can be good but surely the quest isn't mandatory in jade druid. The meta you are in matters a lot: against the wrong deck the quest works against you. In a meta full of control cards, the more power given by the quest hero power is good. In an aggro one missing turn 1 isn't good, and leaving board control and/or healing for value isn't good again. Against aggro, you should play jade idol for tempo. Expecially if you have it at turn 1. And the game will be over before you have lost tempo not spending mana. I'm not saying that the quest isn't strong, I say that in the match jade druid vs aggro deck is almost useless.

I don't play the quest, I wouldn't play it, and on VS meta report the jade druid list doesn't play the quest.

The Darkness is a tech against Reno decks and against plot twist warlock or similar draw-a-lot-lock.

It's good against them ONLY if they have a very bad starting curve, or in the late turns when you can play the darkness and something else togheter.

Actually, as you are an aggro deck (I like even hunter, I have my version too) your first way to kill reno deck should be SMORC. This means that you either find and play the darkess in time, or it will be almost useless (you would win without him or they would have already played Reno). But as now there exist Zephyrs too, and other cards depending on the class chosen, I think that if you are REALLY surrounded by highlander decks you can try the darkness and see what happens.

You shouldn't play Subject 9 because he works against your game plan.

Secret paladin should be a midrange deck with his most powerfull play at turn 6 or as soon as possible after. And your are playing too many secrets here: 5 is the right number, because you want to be sure that avenge will be played by the Mysterious Challenger.

I suggest to you to cut Subject 9 and both mana addict for some good (3) mana minions, because you want to play your curve for the better. I would cut the wolf too, actually, for the same point. I see that you are playing a Glow-tron, maybe some kind of (2) and (3) mana mech synergy?

I'm almost sure that Blizzard said that they won't do different arts for the same card, because people isn't smart enough to understand that a different Ragnaros will still deal 8 damage at the end of turn.

And actually there are better arts, are the golden cards. And they are made in a way that Blizzard would like: almost the same as the basic card, and more expensive.

Just to say, having won 500+ games with a class doesn't make you "good" at the game. It only says that you have played the game a lot.
The same apply to getting to legend: if you never hit it, it doesn't mean that you aren't a good player at all. It only says that surely you didn't play enough in one single month.

Your friend only needs a better cardpool and to better understand the game. As soon as he will get a better collection with some legendaries, the problem will be over.

Someone really loves to downvote people here. :D Anyway from my ladder experience, I can say the following:

Secret Mage has the biggest impact on the meta. When the entire SOU set was revealed, I knew this deck would be very dominant, but I didn't expect to see mech hunters, odd paladins and odd rogues to disappear from the ladder and Reno lists to take their place. Here's a list of the different decks I played against between rank 6-Legend:

    • Warrior - 1) Boulster Quest, 2) Pirate, 3) Odd = Standard Control.
    • Hunter - 1) Mech, 2) Spell = Reno.
    • Paladin - 1) Odd, 2) Handbuff Magnetize, 3) Tip the Scales.
    • Rogue - 1) Odd, 2) Cutlass Thief, 3) Mill.
    • Druid - 1) Jade, 2) Combo.
    • Shaman - 1) Even Overload, 2) Reno Even Overload, 3) Murloc (quest or questless), 4) Shudderwock.
    • Warlock - 1) Reno, 2) Mecha'thun, 3) Darkest Hour, 4) Even, 5) Zoo = Sn1p-Sn4p = Cruel Dinomancer  = Cubelock.
    • Mage - 1) Burn, 2) Reno, 3) Miracle, 4) Exodia.
    • Priest - 1) Big, 2) Inner Fire = Dragon Burn.

I can't foresee what decks will remain popular until the next expansion, but for now I will repeat what others have said before me - Burn Mage and Reno Decks are here to stay. Boulster Quest Warrior has a lot of potential imo, same goes to the new version of Even Shaman. Healing and armour gain are the natural counters to burn, so maybe Odd Warriors will appear again, but I am curious to see how they will outvalue Reno decks.

This is why I love wild <3

My favourite is One Night at Kharazan, because of the flavour and the lore and Medivh. I didn't know that much of wow's lore at the time, but discovering that the Hearthstone Adventure is the past and alive version of the present ruins in wow was amazing. This is good design.
Oh, and the easter eggs. WE ARE THE EXPLORERS LEAGUE AND WE ARE A LEAGUE OF EXPLORERS!

Then for seconds surely the old LoE and BRM. Then Naxxramax, but as I played it so after it has been released, I felt it a little old. But there was some moments of pure genious, like Kel'Thuzad character.

At this point I didn't include any of the rogue-like newer adventures. This is true, but I think that in my mind there is an hidden reason: when I started playing the game, LoE and BRM were my first purchase with real money (but I could have bought them with gold if I wanted to). I felt the progression. I remember the joy of gaining Reno Jackson and building my very first (budget) Renolock. At the time my only legendary was Leeroy, and I was really happy to get so many legendaries in once. And dusting some good characters like Nefarian or Rafaam gave me enough dust to make some important cards like Antonidas or Tirion.
This is one hidden reason why I liked that much the older adventures than the newer. And notice, I did played them in heroic and I still use Kharazan's heroic cardback.

The Lich King happened after, and I felt it wasn't good enough. Still, I enjoyed beating the Lich King 9 times.

For the rogue-like ones, I think that for now the best is still the first, the Dungeon Run. Again, because it was the first, so some mechanics felt fresh instead of overused. However, I like the fact that they put some SP content after all.
Witchwood was both good and not - some characters like Toki were good, some other not - and the boomslab aren't what I look for in a card game. Dalaran heist is good, but I felt it streched: the same content played 5 times is not a 5 times bigger content, IMHO. But I liked the alternative heroes, and I don't understand why we can't use them outside the heist.

Secret paladin is still strong, and I think he will forever be (in the right meta). Remember that the Challenger and the Geist share their mana cost, so you can still drop the challenger before they get the chance to play Geist.
