Dean Ayala just tweeted out some rather surprising but very welcome news - Demon Hunter is getting nerfed, and the balance changes are due today!
- Skull of Gul'dan, Imprisoned Antaen, Eye Beam and Aldrachi Warblades are all on the hit list
- Demon Hunter will also receive Arena adjustments
- Expect more balance changes over the next few weeks
What do you think about this announcement? Were you prepared?
Quote From Dean Ayala We're planning on making some balance changes that should go out today. Cards we're looking at are Skull of Gul'dan, Imprisoned Antaen, Eye Beam, and Aldrachi Warblades. We'll send out the final info from our official channels when it's ready.
We're also making some adjustments to Demon Hunter in Arena. We don't have enough data to make large scale micro-adjustments, but we're opting to make balance changes by hand while we wait for the normal full patch to take place.
As for Demon Hunter class balance, we'd like to keep the class-defining pieces more powerful while pulling back on the cards that make DH feel like it's good at everything.
The expectation should be that there will be a lot of balance iteration over the next few weeks. We'll be making changes a little more frequently until we feel that DH is in a fun, unique, and balanced state.
We have another patch planned for late next week that will address any further changes we want to make to Constructed, Battlegrounds, or Arena.

Illidan was probably gloating about how death catches up to everyone except him, but then he forgot to tie his shoes.
Isn't it just premature? The cards are just out one day. It's a while new class shouldn't we let it be for a little while and see how everyone reacts? There has to be a way for most classes to beat it but they just haven't found the right deck yet.
no.. it's not DH is strong by too much of a big margin it's worse than galakround shaman.
Lol no. This class is just insane. You say most other classes haven't figured out how to beat it yet; I say DH hasn't even figure out what the most optimal decklist is yet.
I have won literally ONE game with DH after playing well over 50. If this class is OP, then I'm horrible at this game, which I know isn't true, because I have a 60% winrate with almost every other deck I play.
Counter point: I threw together one of Blizzard's premade decklists, substituted the 3 cards I was missing, and then went 8-0 for the night. If this class isn't OP then I'm incredible at this game, which I know isn't true because I generally have a ~45% winrate.
Perhaps I didn't understand your post, or there is sarcasm/humor that didn't come across for me.
But are you saying your winrate with Demon Hunter is less than 2%?
If so, can I just check you strategy isn't to start a game, and then go and paint the spare room for half an hour?
Hsreplay showing dhunters total domination on both standard and arena, how much longer should we wait?
Longer than a day. It's a brand new class so a lot of people are playing it. Just chill out and let things settle. Everyone will play it a little less and be decks for other classes will be played.
Normally I'd agree with you, but having played this class myself, and having seen the statistics, I think team5 acted correctly in addressing this immediately.
I just looked. 56% WR for Demon Hunter and all other classes under 45%. LOL.
Fastest nerf in the west
This will definitely make our end of year review!
And it's only the forth month! lol
Little surprised Priestess of Fury is evading the nerf stick. That card has felt consistently broken, both playing it and playing against it. Antaen is at least bad when you're behind.
It has too much health. It should be a 6/5 at minimum. Maybe a 6/4. You should have to really be winning by a lot or protect it with taunt if you expect that effect to trigger twice.
I liked RegisKillbin's idea of changing it to a Start of Turn effect. That would actually justify the statline it has now, and maybe encourage a slower deck.
I hope they fix the Baku - Eye Beam bug
My guesses
Well, that escalated quickly. :D
