Hey, who set the Emerald Dream to dark mode?!

The most interesting thing about this card back is that it represents the Ardenweald realm in the upcoming World of Warcraft: Shadowlands expansion. Could we see some more Shadowlands related stuff inside of Hearthstone this year?

Ardenweald is very similar to the Emerald Dream as it is a place of rest. It contrasts with the Emerald Dream though as Ardenweald represents the Autumn and Winter seasons whereas the Emerald Dream is that of Spring and Summer. Also, trivia bit, the internal name for this card back is Card_Back_Ardenweald!

If the Emerald Dream represents spring and summer, Ardenweald represents autumn and winter in the cycle. This place of rest and hibernation is presided over by the Night Fae Covenant, who tend to spirits who were closely tied to nature, preparing them to return to the world of the living.

The demigod Cenarius spent time recovering in Ardenweald so that he could return to Azeroth during the events of the Cataclsym. It is a beautiful, yet deceptively dangerous land.
