Starting on Monday and lasting the entire week, Gold Club World Cup will take place as the last big tournament before the Scholomance Academy release. Four invited teams will face against four Chinese teams in both Battlegrounds and Constructed to determine which team can call themselves the best in the world.
The Format
The tournament consists of two parts: Battlegrounds and Constructed.
Battlegrounds Format
The participating eight teams are divided into two groups which will play through six rounds of Battlegrounds. Each round will have two players from each team. Teams will gain points based on their players' performance, and the top 2 teams will continue into playoffs. Playoffs will consist of three rounds of Battlegrounds, after which the champion is crowned.
Constructed Format
The eight teams are divided into two groups which will play through a double-elimination bracket. Top 2 teams of each group will advance and play through a single-elimination bracket to determine the champion.
- All matches are played in Standard Format.
- Each team brings 10 decks, one for each class.
- Four bans, Best of 5 Last Hero Standing
The Participants
A total of 11 teams will take part of the event, with 3-5 players within each team. The four invited teams will participate in both formats while most Chinese teams only participate in one.
Tournament Schedule
The tournament takes place from July 27th until August 2nd, and the matches will begin at the same time every day. Each day will begin with Battlegrounds matches and end with Constructed.

I"m looking forward to the outcome. These events have started to become more and more interesting over the years. I'm hoping that there will be upsets though. I like it when the underdog rocks it
I hope this one won't be solo casted by L0rinda.
The casters will be L0rinda, Jia, NaySyl, and the Americas Grandmasters duo Gallon and languagehacker.
Some of Blizzard's recent remote-casted tournaments have had some audio issues time to time though so he might end up solo casting something, but at least it isn't intended.
