Blizzard has announced the next hero coming to the Book of Heroes Adventure and its Rexxar!
- Rexxar's chapter will be playable on October 13.
- The format is the same as Jaina's chapter, play through 8 bosses and earn a class-specific card pack.
You can learn more about the Book of Heroes in its announcement post here.
Quote From Blizzard Born into a peaceful half-ogre, half-orc tribe, Rexxar joined the Horde as a soldier to save his people. The wars to follow weighed heavily on him, and he was only able to find solace in nature and the company of beasts. Eventually, honor compelled him to contact the Horde again, leading to a friendship with its new leader, Thrall. Facing enormous challenges, Rexxar triumphed against his enemies and became known as the Champion of the Horde!
Play through Rexxar’s story in Hearthstone Book of Heroes, a new solo experience! Defeating all 8 bosses in this linear adventure will reward 1 Hunter Pack, containing only Hunter cards from Standard!

8 bosses is too less to be honest.
Story doesn't get explained well, extremely rushed and awkward scenes with Archimonde....
Only cosmetic skins with new voice lines are above deceit....
Nice content and nice reward...keep it up Blizzard!
Book of Heroes really doesn't excite me at all. Pretty lackluster solo content in my opinion, much much preferred the dungeon run style content, for much greater replayability in the long term, as well as far more fun per run.
As someone who never played WoW, I enjoy the lore summaries. However, the AI for the bosses is so terrible that defeating them doesn't feel very rewarding. In the Jaina story, there was one boss who could gain spell power from his hero power, yet decides to cast a damage spell and after that use the hero power. Why even bother giving the boss that hero power if he can't use it effectively?
It's fine (preferable, probably) if the AI doesn't play optimally, but such basic "order lol" mistakes make me wonder how simplistic the AI is. Is it a rules engine like Zephrys? Because even if it just evaluated and scored a few possible moves without looking ahead past the end of the turn, it should have figured out that using the hero power first would result in a better outcome.
This is probably how they're cranking out one a month for each hero. Maybe good for telling background stories for the heroes for those that don't know them. Maybe not so great for replayability. Free packs aren't too bad.
Dungeon runs might've been free, but you also just got 1 during an expansion cycle.
Should be fun - can we skip the dialogue though if we want to? Replaying on multiple regions gets a bit wearing otherwise :P
Just click the dialogue box and it should skip it. I assume it works the same on a phone, if that applies to you, but I'm not certain.
Interesting. Playing on PC - will try that next adventure - thanks :)
thats so far away FeelsBadMan
yo what the hell are the dislikes for lol
Guess they will also sell a bundle with a new hunter skin and 5 hunter packs?
That is likely, but I wonder if they will revise the price or how they offer it. I don't think the Jaina bundle was that successful and I don't see most players being able to justify $10 per hero for alternative art with nothing else new (by the end of the book of heroes spend over $100 for cosmetics?).
I wish we could buy that Hero bundle with gold.
And no new sound clips? Fool me once...
