I think you're right: Warlock is unlikely to get enough value from Tekhan. But when a Rogue discovers him off Hench-Clan Burglar, it will bring back the memories/nightmares of Crystal Core.
you clearly mean [Hearthstone Card (Bazaar Mugger) Not Found]
I forgot that the Burglar only gives you spells; I haven't played Rogue in a while. Anyway, thanks to the Mugger the point still stands.
I just hope we are going to see some new lackey generator cards... In that case i can already see some mid zoo lock with Dark Pharaoh Tekahn and Barista Lynchen ... All in all, very interesting card with good potential.
I'm not sure if this is what you were saying, but Barista Lynchen does not synergise with Dark Pharaoh Tekahn. He sets the lackeys' stats to 4/4, he doesn't give them +4/+4. She does however synergise with most lackey generation, and lackeys themselves, so if that's what you meant, ignore me.
Why should i ignore you :)
Yeah i was thinking about barista + lackeys synergies... sorry because i was not precise
if he had a 5/6 body it would've been a 5*card. considering how the new lackey aint good for zoodecks this new legendary aint as good as it seems, but its worth a try out in zoo or who knows midrange deck? i mean its an of curve battlecry so it seems to want a more midrange deck than aggro right?
Giving a minion +2 hp is probably better than evolving it.
O-oh.. beware of the prehistoric zoo warlock...
I ain't complaining about these cards in particular, but is anybody else disappointed by the lack of Dragon emphasis in the Year of the Dragon? There were rather few in Rise of Shadows and so far, Saviors looks even thinner there.
I think Nefarian will be the Big Bad of the third expansion. There were some hints towards that in the Fire Festival: the reward cards were Bronze Herald (a dragon) and Recurring Villain, plus Nefarian says "I'll be back" when you defeat him.
People really need to layoff the whole dragon boner. It's just named after the WoW Zodiac. If it was the year of the Raptor, would you complain that they didn't just set 3 expansions in Un#goro?
I mean sure, but did we really get a butt load of Ravens last year? Or Mammoths the year before?
No.
The theme is to be perceived in broader strokes I think. Not specifically that because it’s year of the dragon that we’d get a ton of dragon and dragon synergy.
The final set definitely has a deathwing look to the spoiler image so I’m thinking that might be our Year of the Dragon final tie.
I agree with Akira.
The year of the Raven started with Witchwood, which definitely fits the theme of a bird viewed as ominous and creepy. Boomsday and Rastakahn's didn't fit so well, but at least the initial synergy was there.
The Mammoth was best of all imo, because Un'Goro fits the prehistoric theme, KotFT fits the ice theme, and there's a tenuous link between caves and cavemen and mammoths that you could draw with K&C.
The Kraken obviously fits the tentacle-y themes of Old Gods. Kharazan had some mythical creature stuff with the menagerie, but not much relevance, and Mean Streets had a lot of pirate stuff, which tied it back in.
In comparison, there has been absolutely nothing that you could tie back to a dragon theme so far. Kelecgos and Nozari were added, but they weren't really incorporated into the story. For a year which is supposed to be all about a cohesive theme and progressing story, that's pretty disappointing.
I sincerely hope that the final expansion is super dragon-heavy, with some kind of confrontation between EVIL and Deathwing, or one of the other dragonflights. Who knows, maybe the twist is they get Deathwing on their side as a member of EVIL and wage war against all the other dragonflights. That would be a suitably epic end to this building story.
You do realize that there is still one more expansion after this. My guess is it will have to do with dragons as for the "story" that is going on may require the dragon aspects to help out.
Well, at least one person got it.
I don't need a massive Dragon boner. But even some thematic tie backs would be nice. Inconspicuosaurus basically hit it.
I don't want Dragons on every card, but even some tiebacks to the flights would be nice. Rise of Shadows had a few Dragons in it, but little thematic tie back. And Saviors looks to be more Titan and undeath themed, which makes sense for Uldum and the Tanaris Desert. But again, not even really a nod.
Mammoth and Raven at least had some stuff. I'm simply stating some disappointment at the lack thereof at the same time in the cycle. And I don't think that unreasonable.
Tekahn will definetly see play, and love to see a new lackey (wish there were more) to dilute the pool.
Am I the only one finding the new lackey somewhat "underwhelming" in comparison to other lackeys?
Maybe I'm wrong but; It could have been printed as a one drop non-lackey card and not be considered "op" as opposed to other lackeys like Ethereal Lackey. The best comparison would probably be the Goblin Lackey as both lackeys needs a minion to work properly. The differences in my opinion is that Goblin Lackey is very proactive, where Titanic Lackey is only "passive".
Sure it serves a defensive purposes; Which certainly is not "bad" but way more situational.
Seems like the point honestly. A super strong mechanic like lackeys needs to be diluted a bit by a more situational card. Much like how Deathstalker Rexxar was super powerful in standard but terrible in wild. The larger the card pool got, the less consistent it became.
as a rogue, that guy is more than welcome.
