It looks like Hearthstone Duels is getting a rating reset this month!
This is an exciting find in the client because it means we're about to hit the mid-expansion Duels update that Blizzard promised us when they initially announced the new mode.
Quote From Blizzard We’ll be adding new Hero Powers and Treasures in a mid-season update early next year, and plan to reset Duels ratings at that time as well.
While we don't have an exact date yet, and we expect Blizzard will make an official announcement closer to the release of new content, a new round of hero powers and treasures will provide us with more exciting deck-building opportunities and a much-needed refresh for the mode. This will be the second post-launch update of Duels, with the first one being alongside Darkmoon Faire in patch 19.0 when each class received 1 new hero power and 2 treasures.
There is a good chance that this update will also deliver updates to card balance in the Standard constructed game which is highly-requested in the community and something that the developers are going to be talking about starting on Monday.
What kind of hero powers and treasures would you like to see in Duels? Will an update bring you back to the mode? Let us know in the comments below!

I wonder if we get our ticket back when the duels ratings are reset like Arena. I'm keeping an heroic duel at 7-2 just for the ticket :)
Would this be when the "mini-expansion" gets released too I wonder?
I bet on - yes. It's about 2 months after expansion release.
Don't forget - they have enough upcoming announcements for Blizzcon in February:
1. New game mode (expected before new set),
2. New Hearthstone Year and Hall of Fame cards (?),
3. Classic Set rework (?),
4. Next expansion announcement (or just a teaser?).
Seems like enough for Blizzcon alone...
Duels are way too random for me. I tried at the beginning, but it seems like a huge money loss to play them on a regular basis.
I'm only playing in casual to complete achievements. I feel it's the worst game mode so far. While the idea is nice, the matches get really long and changing. And they are mostly playing the same.
At least arena has variability in the card choosing.
Duels is a ton of fun but DH is still dominant due to the insane power/synergy of outlander. Most times any other class I play feels like the win/loss is a coin flip. Heads, you face DH and lose. Tails, you face some other class and have a chance to win. The mode needs each class to have a viable HP/Treasure/StarterDeck synergy that can compete. Right now a DH is S tier with a few classes playable beneath it and a few that are just awful and have no real synergy to win early in a run.
The "talking about starting on Monday" link doesn't lead anywhere currently.
The real question: Will we get the new cards added to Darkmoon Faire at this time?
I feel like there's a good chance at BlizzConline they'll unveil cards and release the mini-set shortly after which means no cards in January.
In my view, taking into account that BlizzConline will take place at the end of February, I guess it will be by then when Blizzard will announce the next Hearthstone expansion along with all the news associated with the new year...
Remember that the next expansion is expected to be released in early March, so the dates coincide.
Expansions are released in April, not March.
Blizzconline is more towards the middle of February and not the end. I definitely expect them to be talking about the new year at the event and cards in some capacity (either the mini-set or the new full set) so it should make for an entertaining weekend.
idk, it doesn't seem that unlikely that the next expansion will launch in March when considering that Darkmoon Faire also launched a month earlier than usual.
Not a full month earlier, but yes, there might be a shift to the regular expansion launch dates, we will have to see.
We got DMF 2-3 weeks earlier than we should've (based on the old schedule), and Outland released April 7th. I'm fully expecting a late March expansion.
