The Hearthstone esports year continues with the second Masters Tour event taking place online in "Orgrimmar". Over 400 players from all regions will compete for their share of the glory, $250,000 prize pool, and the prospect of getting an invitation to Hearthstone Grandmasters. You can find everything you need to know below.

Tournament Format

The Masters Tour format from last year has mostly stayed intact, apart from the top 8 portion becoming top 16.

  • All games are played as Best-of-5 Conquest.
    • 4 decks with 1 ban.
  • A total of 9 Swiss rounds, with Top 16 advancing to single elimination.
    • Day 1: 5 rounds of Swiss, players with 3 or more wins advancing to day 2.
    • Day 2: The remaining 4 rounds of Swiss and the first round of the top 16 single elimination bracket.
    • Day 3: Top 8 single elimination bracket.

Notable Attendees

All Grandmasters have been invited to the event but we have their images up on our weekly posts, so it's time for others to have the limelight! The full list of invited players can be found here.

  • Attention! The Masters Tour should not be confused with the Grandmasters Weeks

To clarify, the events schedule and its rewards is as follows:

    • Grandmasters Week 1 (April 9 – 11) : 2 Year of the Phoenix packs
    • Grandmasters Week 2 (April 16 – April 18) : 2 Year of the Phoenix packs *
    • Grandmasters Week 3 (April 23 – April 25) : 2 Year of the Phoenix packs *
    • Masters Tour Orgrimmar (April 30 – May 2) : 2 Year of the Phoenix packs
    • Grandmasters Week 4 (May 7 – May 9) : 2 Year of the Phoenix packs *
    • Grandmasters Week 5 (May 14 – May 16) : 2 Year of the Phoenix packs *
    • Grandmasters Week 6 (May 21 – May 23) : 2 Year of the Phoenix packs *
    • Grandmasters Week 7 (May 28 – May 30) : 2 Year of the Phoenix packs *
    • Grandmasters Week 8 (Play-offs) (June 4 – June 6) : 2 Forged in the Barrens packs

(Those marked with an * are shared rewards, i.e. you can only get 2 Year of the Phoenix packs at most from all those weeks altogether)

    • I should've probably been more clear about the fact that these are indeed a separate thing and EVERYONE should be watching, regardless how many packs they've already gotten from GM this season.

    • Extremely helpful, thank you!

But why the Masters Tour Orgrimmar rewards Phoenix and not Barrens Packs is beyond me.

  • Just so everyone is aware, there are drops for this;
