A great deal has arrived in the Hearthstone store for just $5 which gives you cards from Standard sets!
The new bundle was added this afternoon and comes with a random legendary card and five standard packs. These packs are a new type of pack that will only give you cards in the current standard rotation. If you want to maximize value, you should be able to keep these packs and open them after the mini-set releases or the next expansion so you can target new cards you are missing in your collection.
The bundle is available through May 24, 2021, and can be purchased for $5 in-game or on the Battle.net shop.

They said that was a pricing error and fixed it. If you wanna call it conspiracy, so be it. Eventually, you need to take things at face value. Second guessing everything in the world that doesnt really matter is exhausting.
Here's that article:
HERE
I don't recall using any heavy words such as that, merely pointing out the fact. There were people who got it for $7 and more who would've bought it for that price, but not for $10. So discounts do matter, and Hearthstone is pretty bad at offering them even for dated cosmetics. The steep pricing of most deals is its own separate subject, and it also depends on your location (certain regions get really hurt by extremely unfavorable Euro/Dollar conversions).
The people that got it for $7 got it during the pricing mistake, right? It wasnt a discount....it was an error on Blizz's part. Did they take away their purchase? I didnt hear it. People just got in when it was their advantage. We all know the price it should have been. HS IS bad at offering discounts on old content - agreed. Region to region costs have never been apples and oranges since the dawn of time.
Point Im trying to make is OP pointed out how $5 wasnt such a bad deal and here you are chiming in that it's all about them being greedy and testing the waters with something like this. If you dont like it, move along. You go and think they Blizzard upped the cost of something they thought was priced too low....when in fact, it was a pricing error. It was just 2 poor thoughts that caused me to hit the reply button and say what I did.
Btw, your first sentence says you pointed out fact when you actually didnt - 1 was an opinion and the other was an err'ed statement.
Am I being too harsh on a random person? Perhaps I could have sugar coated things.....but the truth hurts sometimes. Feel the sting, learn, and move on.
For starters, I responded to the OP jokingly. One could be excused for overlooking the written context, but the ":P" face was there right after the first sentence to hint at the real intent. And if you wish to keep proper track, they actually pointed out how $5 just for one legendary (minus the 5 packs) wouldn't be too bad, hence the subject of the response in the first place.
Yes, pointed out the fact. The initial price was lower, then the changed price was higher. Simple, nothing to debate there. No matter how one might try to twist it, that's the actual account of what took place. Now getting into the what and why of it is the field of speculations and opinions. Just as what should or should not have been.
For whatever reason, you seem very up in arms about it being just an error (which is not something you can know either way without inside knowledge), spinning off from there in various defenses as if I was trying to take them down. Fair to assume it wasn't just some intern manually setting the price and leaving it up for several hours, or we would be seeing such accidents all the time. Maybe it was an alternative that was being considered at one point, baked into the shop as it was. Maybe it wasn't intended to go up at all, maybe after it did the higher ups decided 'nope, let's revert'. What are they going to say officially other than "mistake"? That's all speculation regardless.
But you know, it also doesn't really matter what it was in earnest. It just was, what matters is how it was handled. Call it change, call it correction. The company had the option to keep it as is while adding the missing gold option, and enjoy good press and possible higher amount of purchases. Take that lesson and input and apply it to further deals for older cosmetics. Keep it fair between those who bought first and bought later. They decided against it, perhaps believing $10 still gets them more money and it's what they want to stick to going forward for now. It also sets that precedent where they can always adjust prices of something later on, which is potentially problematic. I can consider it poor handling and faulty thinking due to a number of reasons as listed, just as you can consider it as natural and justified as it gets. That's the only truth.
I saw the smiley.
Yes, they pointed out just for 1 legendary. They also said this deal was a good deal. Your response to not give them any greedy ideas could have been for either point OP made. I took it as an attack on the actual deal of legendary + 5 packs.
Ive lost interest and time in this discussion so whatever else you are saying...I cant be bothered. Have a good day.
Ok, probably a good deal but I was hoping for a balance patch anouncement.
Got Cariel Roame, which I'm happy about. Don't know if I can resist opening the packs until the next expansion, but I will try lol
