Hearthstone's Alec Dawson has confirmed details on the upcoming Hearthstone patch that will contain nerfs, buffs, and apparently changes to Quilboar in Battlegrounds.
No exact details have been announced yet, but here's what we know so far about the upcoming patch:
- There will be 5 cards getting nerfed.
- 10 cards are going to see buffs.
- Quilboar tribe in Battlegrounds will receive changes.
Read on below for Alec's confirmation tweet. Hearthstone's next patch arrives tomorrow, May 12. We're unsure of the timing since the usual patches take place when the Battlegrounds Brawl event begins. Perhaps we will see changes go out a little earlier than normal.
Quote From Alec Dawson Patch and patch notes are coming tomorrow. We wanted the full weekend to look at Quilboar and decide on Battlegrounds changes. Number of adjustments coming for the minion type.
We'd love to have notes out asap but localization takes time, they'll be out for all regions tomorrow.

why does blizz always make these announcements? they could simply tell us the nerfs and buffs.
nobody needs this...!
If the Patch comes today it is right before the Twitch battlegrounds event?
Guess we'll only find out what the nerfs and buffs are the second they are released.
I can only guess the reason for this. Probably because they're still testing something in that list and didn't want to commit. I mean there's 10 buffs this time, and with the midset probably by the end of the month to consider as well.
Edit: should have added that though the official reason is 'localization', I don't think its too much effort to at least let us know what cards are being affected. Unless, as I suspect, that there's still some amount of testing on certain cards in that list and they're waiting until the last minute.
He said they did that testing last weekend. Now they are just waiting for the 15 translations of the patch notes. That will take some time, as explained.
careful now, i tried saying the same thing a couple of hours ago and got downvoted to hell.
ppl here being mega bipolar, the comments ive posted here with the same final goal have been in some cases downvoted massively and in other cases upvoted. do they even read?
whats with the delay in terms of disclosing the changes? they officially say what are the changes on the same day they happen?
whats the reason behind this? it has to be related to monetary reasons. apparently still in todays world ppl playing and paying for online service games arent aware of the games state.
meaning they have no clue that changes are coming, but still craft cards and decks days before the changes. imagine paladin being hit or warrior and taking a fall but there are still ppl that just yesterday crafted like 6k worth of dust. and guess what ? those cards only worked cause crabrider conviction and other cards make the deck insane.
in the meantime they crafted the prime and the epic weapons some warrior legendary and probably some other legendary neutral that isnt nerfed but will see its play rate drop. so these ppl proceed to spend money so they get their dust back.
i mean very weird that ppl still dont follow the game state but have no problem in spending money on it.
it says in the article, they need to localise the patch notes in 15 languages before they can release them.
Thats not a good reason to not simply tell us which of the 10 cards will get buffed and which of the 5 cards will be nerfed.
thank you!!
remember the Pilfer Hysteria combo in wild not too long ago? they tweeted that it was gonna get axed and that tweet was like 4 days before the actualy patch hit.
im talking about disclosing it earlier, like some time ago they announced the nerfs almost a week before the changes, when i say announce i mean they fully say what cards are getting changed and in what way.
They mentioned it last week. 5 nerfs and 10 buffs.
thats not what i mean. i know they said that. i mean why dont they announce the official nerfs with a week notice or something like they did before?
Example:
Crabrider: changed health from 4 to 3
etc. thats what i mean
Why would you craft something when there is a patch just around the corner?
It's coming out in one day. Chill. What difference does it make knowing the cards in advance?
maybe for the achievement owning all the cards? I don't know if you can just craft and disenchant them for net 0 after the nerfs?
Yea I'm with Marega on this one, I understand localisation takes time, especially for 15 languages but that just comes across as an excuse as to why they haven't disclosed the exact cards targeted with nerfs/buffs via twitter. Why do we have to wait for the patch notes all of a sudden? I want to know the exact changes so I can start theorycrafting new decks that might see play (especially in Shaman). A great example is the great unnerffing where Alec gave informal but legit card changes weeks before the patch went live.
For some, its for relief. For others, its so they can properly plan ahead.
Let's be honest. If all the nerfs and buffs are settled in the dev's minds, what kind of drawback is there for them to simply let the community know earlier before the patch hits? Its not like its never been done before.
The FOMO is real.
Cant wait, im expecting quite a few boars to move up a tavern tier.
I highly doubt they will tier change
