We've got a new Arena rotation taking place in Hearthstone this week with the release of the Wailing Caverns cards! Celestalon confirmed these details on Twitter.
Unfortunately, this rotation means we will also be saying goodbye to some sets. The following sets are being removed from Arena on June 3:
- Mean Streets of Gadgetzan
- Rise of Shadows
Fear not though for we're making tons of tiny new friends with the sets that are being added! The following two old sets, and new set, are being added:
- Goblins vs Gnomes
- Kobolds & Catacombs
- Wailing Caverns
So, what does the final rotation look like with the changes? Here you go!
- Core
- Forged in the Barrens (With New Wailing Caverns cards)
- Madness at the Darkmoon Faire
- Scholomance Academy
- Ashes of Outland
- Goblins vs Gnomes
- Kobolds & Catacombs

"Free" Tavern Ticket
Since the new rotation will not only add new sets but also remove some, we should expect a free Tavern Ticket for our unfinished Arena runs. As per usual, start an Arena run, leave it at X wins and a maximum of 2 losses and get a reward equal to the amount of wins you left the run with, plus a Tavern Ticket when your run gets retired with the rotation.
Don't forget that Arena entries generally close a few hours prior to the expansion launch based on your server time. Don't leave it for last minute!

Finally! I quite like arena, but I'm not good enough to actually justify spending gold there.

So much this !!! I hate lackeys in Arena. Especially the Discover lackeys are so god damn annoying and create unhealthy situations.
Time to start a run but not finish it for the free pack.
I hope they rotate out Scholomance and/or AoO next rotation. It's kind of boring having most of Standard in Arena with only a few Wild sets.

On the one hand, I find it useful (when mostly playing Standard) to know what to play around without constantly looking things up - those damn secrets, man. On the other hand, it can indeed become a little stale - and the Wild sets they pick don't always have great synergies with what's already there, so the class strength swings wildly even without considering any hidden adjustments.
