I recently realised that I haven't actually done any of the Book of Heroes content since the very first one. Jumping back into them was very refreshing, and reminded me of just how many interesting things have been added to Hearthstone over the years. It'll be interesting to see what else they can come up with - we already know about the upcoming Mercenaries mode, but what's next? Who knows!

The Fan Community Spotlight this week is something incredibly creative and unique - an entire custom game mode, "Aletta's Kitchen"!
The most amazing part about this game mode idea is that it is fully playable through both a website and Discord. I just lost half an hour I meant to spend writing trying it out - it's a very unique game system that takes a little getting used to, but is explained pretty clearly in the article. While not incredibly related to Hearthstone, it does play around in the same universe with its characters and references.

I found last week's design contest very interesting. It seemed like a very hard but interesting mechanic to balance cards around, with a lot of creative room. One of my main problems with the cards was that sometimes you could just easily make a minion-based deck and throw in the card without paying any real penalty (kinda like the winning card tbh, although that one is quite balanced). I really loved all the cool cards that would really force you into creative deckbuilding, both due to their restriction and their pay-off. One of my favourite prompts ever.
