It's been almost two weeks since the 21.3.0 patch arrived which featured nerfs, buffs, changes, and a card ban in wild. With that in mind, you have around 2 days remaining to decide if you should get a full refund for the cards that were nerfed or changed in the patch. No better time for that last search of your collection to see if there is anything relevant still hiding in there. Soon the following cards will no longer grant you the full amount of arcane dust upon disenchanting:
- Irebound Brute - Cost increased to 8 (from 7).
- Mindrender Illucia - Text changed to "Battlecry: Replace your hand with a copy of your opponent's until end of turn." (Was "Battlecry: Swap hands and decks with your opponent until your next turn.")
- Perpetual Flame - Cost increased to 2 (from 1).
- Command the Elements - Tame the Flames increased to 3 Overload cards (from 2).
- The Demon Seed - Questline requirement increased to 8 damage (from 6).
- Runed Mithril Rod - Cost increased to 4 (from 3).
The above cards will all remain disenchantable for full arcane dust value through October 5.
When Blizzard offers dust refunds for nerfed and changed cards, they do so for two weeks following the patch. We always recommend getting your dust as soon as possible though so you don't forget to take advantage of the situation.
New Feature: Refund Keyword in the Collection
When Patch 21.0 hit with preparations for United in Stormwind, a very important feature was added to the collection manager. No more do we need to manually go looking for refund-capable cards because Blizzard added in a new keyword that will find them for you.
By typing "refund" in the collection manager search box, you will now be able to find these cards together and make your decision on whether or not they are getting dusted. An excellent addition to the game that unfortunately took this long to make happen. It doesn't matter though, we'll always take a quality of live improvement and as they say, the second best time to plant a tree is today.
Quote From Blizzard Searching “Refund” in the Collection will now populate with cards eligible for a dust refund.
Comments
It looks like they're extending the deadline, because I still see full refund value for the affected cards in my Collection.
Used this to get 3,200 for my golden Warlock quest card.... just not a fan of the playstyle, and I can always replace it with a normal one later.
Very next day I get The Demon Seed back in a free pack
Does anyone know if there is a place you can check the translation for the "refund" keyword? I'm playing HS in Polish language and I can't find our translation for this keyword, and the english one doesn't work unfortunately in the client.
I googled REFUND in Polish and it worked. Thankfully, I usually play games in my native tongue.
Does anyone think Illucia is still be playable in wild? or that it has a niche?
It is always safe to disenchant a nerfed card - you can always recraft it with no dust lost. That being said, I think Illucia has been gutted. She used to be a pretty strong disruption tool, but now, she's an alright tool for longer matches. Not all that good though, and definitely a massive nerf.
