It looks like we'll be getting a client patch on Tuesday, November 2, since Diablo is not in the current client for Duels and Battlegrounds and that new Tavern Brawl isn't either. Perhaps we can expect a round of balance changes then too, or could this be the mini-set making a debut?
Quote From Blizzard Hallow’s End has returned! The Headless Horseman has taken over the tavern and the festivities are underway! The spooky celebration is spread out over three weeks this year, from October 19 through November 9, with freebies, special offers, and fan-favorite activities across that time.
Pick Out Your Costume
First things first, it’s not Hallow’s End without some costumes. With the Fairy Tales Bundle, you get classic, fairy tales-themed costumes for your Hunter, Mage, Priest, and Shaman heroes! Or, if you plan to spend your time in Bob’s tavern this Hallow’s End, you can pick up the Battlegrounds Hallow’s End bundle, which includes a Gala Medivh alternate Bartender and seven costumes for your Battlegrounds heroes.
There are also two entirely free costumes that everyone can claim this Hallow’s End! The Pirate King Garrosh skin for Warrior can be claimed in the shop today, while the Stormwind Guard Guff Battleground hero skin will be available starting October 26! Make sure to claim your freebies before the Hallow’s End festivities are over.
Pirate King Garrosh can be claimed until November 9, at 9:59 a.m. Pacific Time. Stormwind Guard Guff can be claimed until November 30, at 9:59 a.m. Pacific Time.
Special Tavern Brawls!
For the first two weeks of Hallow’s End, we’re bringing back two classic Hallow’s End Tavern Brawls. On October 20, the Rise of the Zombeasts rises again! Then, on October 27, we have another go-around on The Haunted Carousel!
But that’s not all! On November 3, we’ll be revealing a brand new Hallow’s End Tavern Brawl. This time, The Headless Horseman is running the show—literally! In this Brawl, you play as the Headless Horseman, directing your actors as they try to perform your first-ever production. Each turn, choose a card to buff your actor as they automatically duke it out before your eyes!
Legendary Quest Chain—Starting November 2
Once you’ve picked out your costume, we have some activities planned! Embark on a Legendary Quest chain, and collect four total packs (2 United in Stormwind and 2 Standard Packs) for completing three Legendary Quests!
This Legendary Quest Chain will no longer be available starting November 10, at 10 a.m. Pacific, so get them done before they’re gone!
Dual-Class Arena Returns—Starting November 2
Tavern Brawls aren’t the only returning favorites. Dual-class Arena is back! Pick a hero, then pick a different hero’s Hero Power, and draft your deck from a combination of both class’s card pools!
Diablo Invades Duels and Battlegrounds—Starting November 2
Mercenaries could contain Diablo no longer! Starting November 2, Diablo will be available in both Duels and Battlegrounds for a limited time!
Diablo is the first-ever dual-class Duels hero, combining the powerful Warrior and Warlock card pools! Diablo also has unique Hero Powers and Signature Treasures to pick from that you can unlock as you play! Keep an eye out for an upcoming announcement of even more Duels updates that will go live with Patch 21.6.
And last, but certainly not least, Diablo is also barging into Battlegrounds! When you’re playing as Diablo, you become the raid boss. Every four turns, all the other players in the Tavern will try to take down your warband plus the Lord of Terror in a special encounter. Any that take down the Lord of Terror get treasure, but Diablo gets treasure for each opponent who can’t destroy his Lord of Terror.
Diablo is a special, limited-time event character, so it will be available to all players, not just those with Battlegrounds Perks. Happy Hallow’s End!
Comments
I 100% agree with Caro. Team 5 would never make a dual class skin. I could see a character being a skin for two classes, but never one skin for two classes. Simplicity has always been important to Team 5. We literally did not get more deckslots until 2020 because they thought it might be too confusing.
There are also Horseman Uther and Aranna portraits for gold in shop.
It is nice to have a free skins
That Garrosh skin is probably going to replace Deathwing for me. As much as I love the thought of Deathwing controlling an army of pirates, the Garrosh skin just fits way too perfectly to pass up.
Hmm. So I guess this means Hearthstone is starting to do cross-IP stuff now. (even though I'm fairly certain they stated at some point in the past that they would not do that).
Not that I'm complaining, I just wonder if this means we'll see other cross IP characters in the future (i.e. Kerrigan, Jim Raynor, Tyrael, etc etc)
Iksar mentioned in a recent AMA that they are interested in doing some of that, but neither Team 5 nor the other teams they would be collaborating with have had the time to work on anything like that.
A Tyrael Hero skin would be amazing, maybe for paladin.
It's possible. They could also do the WoW pets that are based off of their other franchises, too(Mini Tyrael, Mini Diablo, Grunty the Murloc Marine, etc.)
I doubt that we will see starcraft/overwatch characters anytime soon. Mainly because both Diablo and HS are fantasy games while the other games follow the sci-fi genre.
Judging by this miniset is november 2nd
Getting Garrosh for free is really nice gesture, especially since he's practically the most flavorful of the skins. Freebies are cool.
Yarr, this was a nice surprise. I'm excited for Diablo, both in Duels and BG. It feels like a good way to test the waters for other franchises. Now I must just resist Prince Charming.
