Hearthstone Battlegrounds Buddies is a New Mechanic That Brings Unique Minions to Each Hero - Bru'kan Hero Reveal

The first Hearthstone Battlegrounds reveal of the day is here and it comes to us from RDU!

A new mechanic

Unique minions each Battlegrounds Hero gets.
You have a special ultimate bar you need to fill by completing different objectives with your hero.
- Examples of tasks include dealing damage, popping divine shields, and winning fights.
When you fill the bar halfway, you get your first copy of the Battlegrounds Buddy for your hero.
When you fill the bar fully, you get the remaining two copies of your Battlegrounds Buddy.

Hero Power: Embrace the Elements
- [0 Cost] Choose an Element. Start of Combat: Call upon that Element.
Elements:
- Earth Invocation
  - Start of Combat: Give 4 random friendly minions "Deathrattle: Summon a 1/1 Elemental."
- Fire Invocation
  - Start of Combat: Double your left-most minion's Attack.
- Water Invocation
  - Start of Combat: Give your right-most minion +3 Health and Taunt.
- Lightning Invocation
  - Start of Combat: Deal 1 damage to 5 random enemy minions.
Buddy:
- Spirit Raptor
  - [Tier 2] [3/2] After you call upon a new Element, this remembers it. Deathrattle: Call upon those Elements.
- Spirit Raptor (Gold)
  - [Tier 2] [6/4] After you call upon a new Element, this remembers it. Deathrattle: Call upon those Elements twice.

There are a few more Battlegrounds reveals that will be taking place today. The next reveals are happening with Zoom and Tesdey.

Besides Brukhan looking insanely OP, the buddy system sounds very interesting and i cant wait to see what other heroes get.

Not sure how I feel about this. On one hand this gives you a lot of intricate things to do on your end even if your taverns have been shit and you've had zero triples to work with. On the other, if done poorly this might lead to a rich get richer problem where the heroes that are already strong and winning will be doing better on their objectives than the weaker ones, which will then earn them rewards that push them forward in power even more. And if the buddies wind up too powerful, you might also end up in a situation where everyone is just playing in their own little corner trying to tick off objectives while what plays you're making in the tavern plays second fiddle.

Brukan with Tarecgosa is going to be nuts. Swap it back and forth from left to right and use the appropriate attack or health buff and you can get one big minion real fast.
*edit* And lets not forget what the spirit raptor will do to enhance that. If I read that correctly, you only need four turns to do each one once and then it will do them all on deathrattle, plus whichever one you choose for your hero power activation.

Throw a macaw in front of that raptor with tarecgosa and a baron and that sounds pretty nuts.

This is really really exciting. Hope the buddies are unique enough to make the more generic heroes more interesting
