We've got another reveal for Hearthstone Battlegrounds today, this time five new buddies for previously released heroes coming from Zorgo!

What Are Battlegrounds Buddies?

Battlegrounds Buddies are a new mechanic coming to Hearthstone Battlegrounds on January 25, 2022.

  • Buddies are special minion cards which are unique to the hero you are playing - every hero has their own synergistic buddy!
  • You obtain your buddy by filling your Buddy Meter halfway.
  • Filling your Buddy Meter fully gets you a golden copy of your buddy by giving you two additional copies of your buddy card.

  • I don't get the Brann one. His whole deal was battle cries, his hero power gives you a Brann for free. How does a deathrattle beast generator fit with that? 

    • It generates battlecry minions.

      • Oh. Idk why i read it generated beasts like a beast version of Djin

  • first mayev buddy looks very strong, if the second one come on the 10th/11nd turn feels a bit weak, but idk I didn't play bg so much.

     

    Off topic: I received 8800 dust, anybody know where they come from?

    Edit: Is retroactive dust from uncraftable cards opened from varios drops, found on twitter

  • I don't play much Battlegrounds, but Maiev's buddy looks incredibly strong. It seems for some buddies you'd want to wait until they're golden, but this is not one of them. You'd want to level fast and get three high tier minions instead of two.

  • Well all of these are quite game changing. I'm impressed! Was totally expecting the big reveal to be a new minion type but this adds much more flavor to all of the heroes, which helps battlegrounds standout even more against other auto chess games. Curious how armor of everyone is gonna get hit by these changes. I imagine the first couple weeks are gonna involve some broken combos people will bandwagon on hard until their nerfs.
