We have some unprecedented and bad news to report, fellow mobile players from all walks of life. Fair warning, in case you need to brace yourselves and seek a hug afterwards, so we can all cry and lament together while sharpening those pitchforks: don't expect the newest Patch 22.6 to arrive on your other devices anytime soon. Maybe not even tomorrow or the next day in line; the worst-case scenario would be having to wait until after the weekend.
Update: Early fears aside, it didn't seem to take overly long on Google Play Store for Android devices, as the voluntary patch eventually came online after half a day. Samsung soon followed suit, and after a full day Apple and Amazon storefronts have also joined the mobile party. The patch should now be accessible on all devices, enjoy!
This incident definitely went beyond the occasional "several hours later at most" schedule that we are used to when it comes to Hearthstone mobile updates. Here is the official explanation with a couple of relevant updates:
Quote From Blizzard We identified an issue with our mobile version of the 22.6 patch. We’ve fixed the issue and resubmitted the patch to the mobile storefronts, but it can take some time for those storefronts to update. We expect the 22.6 patch to become available over the next few days, as those storefronts update. Please be aware that until the mobile patch is available, updating to 22.6 on desktop will block you from being able to play Hearthstone on your mobile device. We advise any players who plan to play on mobile to wait until the 22.6 patch is available on all their devices before updating.
3/18 morning update: Mobile updates for Google and Samsung went live last night. We are still waiting for Amazon and iOS services to update. We will continue to update as we have more information.
3/18 late morning update: We are seeing the patch available on all storefronts! If it is not yet available on your specific device, it should become available shortly as those storefronts propagate to their users.
And so that probably marks the end of our little "delayed mobile patch" saga.
Different Storefronts, Different Update Times
We were also told that the official forum post might not be receiving periodic updates as various storefronts follow their own rules:
Quote From DeckTech Haven’t specifically decided. That forum post will probably be updated when all storefronts are live, but since they’ll all happen at their own paces, your particular store may be ready before that.
And true enough, at least one of them didn't test our patience all that much. It's a good thing all other storefronts had a chance to catch up by now. Or almost all, your regional mileage may vary.
Quote From DeckTech Seeing both iOS and Amazon downloads within the last hour, but some reports of not yet seeing them in certain regions/devices—it’s probably just slowly propagating out from those storefronts, so should be available to everyone soon!
If you still don't see any update prompts, try to disable and then enable again the auto-update options in your store (usually the upper right corner), or play around with the settings. Hearthstone app should direct you there by default, but it's also easy to access manually. Restart your device or try to use an airplane mode plus WiFi (it's over 1 GB update on cellular alone) if you encounter any patching issues. Need more information on this? We've posted about possible steps to take before.
And if you've somehow dodged the desktop client updates up until now (or play the game solely on mobile), your matchmaking potential should be limited to all other players who stuck with the previous 22.4.3 patch version - which is presumably a limited and dwindling pool of people. It should not be possible to queue into anyone who is currently playing on the desktop and has access to all the new patch 22.6 offerings - be it the fresh content for Battlegrounds, Mercenaries, or the new free Legendary Blademaster Okani.
This one hurt the early excitement for the patch, and nobody could've really seen it coming. For many of us a bulk of Hearthstone gameplay happens through mobile devices nowadays, and it's the bitter irony for anyone who might've updated their desktop client before this information had even become available. Luckily that all should be over now!

Does this patch has a "know issues" somewhere?
I've found A LOT of them, and many on things said to be resolved with this patch...
There is the usual Blizzard's forum thread for the patch. As is often the case, not everything picked up by or reported by the community even makes it there. I haven't had the time yet to go through all issues and fixes for an usual compilation here yet, sorry! So much going on.
as long as they fix mobile battlegrounds. you can‘t see who you were fighting and who was fighting against whom. buddy pictures are way too huge… -.
Why is it so hard to implement the release logic similar to Runeterra? As of day 1 they update all devices at the same time.
imo because they update days before and then enable all devices later on so they dont have to follow the various app store timings.
way better then small indie blizzard…
My guess would be they might be afraid of their content being even more easily datamined should they do that.
This just goes beyond ridiculous. This is a multi-billion dollar company they had time to flush all of this out ahead of time. They're only giving us 3 weeks before the expansion comes out as it is, the mini set just came out 2 weeks ago. They had time to add seven mercenaries, yet not time to fix the achievement bug that keeps showing that you have finished achievements but nothing lights up blue that you can click off. They haven't fixed the bug where it keeps showing you that you have new cards every time you open your collection even though you've already looked at them all, and still after 8 years they don't have a randomization button for hero / battlegrounds portraits, coins, battlegrounds boards, bartenders, and astral finishers. Would it really be that hard to put a randomization option in for each cosmetic item? We're paying good money for them we should be able to utilize them without having to go in and change it each time. To put this major patch out and not even fix the quality of life changes or add the randomization button everyone has been begging for for years and then to not completely flush out their 22.6 mobile edition and then realize it at the last minute and have to resubmit it screwing over mobile players that may not be able to even play or use the new card until past the weekend when they have to go back to work it's just getting ridiculous. I really love the theme of this expansion Colossus looks awesome dredge looks pretty cool it looks like it's going to be a really good time but how the hell would I know I can't even use the new card that they gave out. I mean come on from multi-million excuse me billion dollar company they can't flush out there stuff months ahead of time to make sure it's ready to go on day one give us more times between many sets and expansions add in quality of life stuff like randomization for all cosmetics, instead of adding in seven mercenaries without fixing the excess coin issue and not fixing any of the bugs that are annoying the shit out of everybody with showing that you have new cards when you don't and not letting you get achievements that you've done. I just spent $140 on both bundles, Plus when the patch goes lives it'll be another $40 on the dragon mercenaries bundle plus 1800 gold on mercenaries packs to get the rest of the mercenaries Plus through the drekthar or Vandar I think it is questline to get him and then I'll have all The mercenaries I am so disappointed in this company. It seems like it's run by a bunch of teenagers with no lead like actually holding people accountable and being a boss. I imagine a bunch of hippie tight people smoking weed sitting on bean bags and the Hearthstone mercenaries team in uptight suits figuring out how they can screw over their player base even more by adding in way too many mercenaries at once and no duplication and no excess. But they're not even be able to add in a randomization or fix the bugs that have been in there for months that's just unexcusable. I think I might just go back to the bat on that store ask the return my items get my $140 back and find a different game.
Keep us in the loop on how that refund turns out.
Spacing, punctuation and grammar can sometimes push a refund request in your favor, by the way.
Uhhh... the patch notes say they fixed both the Achievements bug AND the New Cards bug.
To your complaints about the mobile patch delay: mistakes happen, man. Truly you need to get over it and grow up.
Not really... I still have two completed achievements that doesn't seem to show up since I see the number 2, but don't see which achievements I can click to get them.
Apparently you can no longer purchase any of the card backs with gold. Don’t know if it was intentional or not, but it’sreally unfortunate.
Being the parent of a small child, most of my HS gaming is on mobile. Already patched on desktop to check out some of the new Mercenaries stuff and have been refreshing the app store for an update. At least I can stop doing that...
Same here. This is ludicrous.
Name a piece of software that never has bugs. Good luck.
It's not the fact that it has bugs. Every software has them, as you said.
It's rather the fact that every single patch is full of them, and seemingly one fixed bug leads to two new ones. I agree with OP that this is unacceptable from a company like Blizzard for a game this expensive.
Now you say
So, sharpening pitchfork can change the outcome?
If only!
