A new patch has hit the servers with bug fixes and Battlegrounds balance changes. Card image updates will be in our database soon.

Toki is definitely worse in the early game, but still pretty solid in the end game to guarantee roll 6-drops at rank 5.
Mukla is at least A-tier now. Arguably S-tier. He's like a better Milly.
Mamma Bear change is nice.
Kangor's change almost makes it better in some ways, since you want it to die. But it's still an overall nerf.
Jaraxxus is definitely better, but I'm still not sure how much. Demons are still the weakest tribe overall.

Since the patch the key symbols for highest arena wins in the quest log are upside down.
Sounds like Mukla will be a better Millificent now, since you can actually decide where the buff goes.
Can we squelch again? The amount games this week were I've played against some absolute melts spamming emotes from the start to end is staggering.

Yes we can squelch again. I didn't play much while we couldn't as it was even worse when people *knew* you couldn't silence them.
They lied to us Toki's power doesn't do same thing as before. It actually adds minion extra. Before it would generate minion in place of one of options, now it is in addition
It's not a "lie." It's poorly written. And it was noted that it was poorly worded almost immediately. You people can't wait to put your tinfoil hats on.
It is a lie, because hero power works differently. Just an example:
Before patch on tier 2 her hero power would add 3 guys to the board and then generate one from higher tier.
After the patch on tier 2 her hero power adds 4 guys to the board and then generates one from higher tier.
You get a whole extra minion to choose from with her new hero power.
A poor explanation is not the same thing as a lie.
"Effect stays same" means very specific thing, effect didn't stay same. It is slightly but nonetheless different.
Deck no longer appears as incomplete until opened, then closed, then re-opened!

Nice to see that they're already attempting to balance the new game mode. I'm a bit surprised that Nightmare Amalgam didn't get nerfed considering how ubiquitous it is, but we'll see...
As for Zapp, I have no clue. Maybe if you get a triple on a tier 6 card you'll get rewarded with a tier 8 card. Maybe more cards will get added to that tier in the future.
EDIT: Just saw the mention of Effigy.
Amalgam is hardly a consistent path to the crown. The key to victory is managing the pool to deny triples and synergy to the players you will face once the rabble is eliminated.
In beta of hearthstone, they were the same how they act for battlegrounds. They had changed cards, hero powers more often than now + there were no serious threats or rivals for the game.
Considering battlegrounds are in beta and there are already succeed auto-chess games around, they have to do that. I don't think they changed their policy of nerfing/balancing. It is just a must for now.
In my opinion they will stop that after the mode finished its beta status.
Zap nerf is apparently for Effigy purposes, btw.
I'd call it a buff then, since Effigy would create a higher cost minion from him.
