Comments
Ok wtf Blizzard
Don't really care much for Mantid Queen. Even with 6 other minion types, there will always be a chance you don't roll a divine shield, and you're taking that risk every turn.
The real threat out of this article is that Nightmare Amalgam is returning as a Tier 3 minion. Going to be a menace to BG all over again!
Also, really excited for Eventide Brute. I want to play a dream comp of Captain Flat Tusk, Cap'n Hoggarr, and Eventide Brutes. Just buy pirates, play Blood Gems, and watch the stats soar!
I think the ability to give extra stats to another minion, any minion regardless of tribe, is stronger than it looks. And the synergy with blood gems is very strong. Nagas will be much more powerful when quillboar are included. Without quillboar, they may only be decent in the early and mid-game.
Lets remove Amalgadon, so ppl cant have Poison Divine Shield Taunt .. oh yeah, and here is a new minion, totally not a Poison Divine Shield Taunt. Me smart. Me like to bonk my head against the wall.
Also I dont get how they can say that there will be more diverse comps when a Tier3 amalgam is being reintroduced lol.
You have to look at this like a Selfless that could bring you some value or close your menagerie build but it could always be bad. It is a Neutral, so it can't be easily buffed since buddies are out. It's not relyable since the effect it gains aren't permanent, only the Poison is. It could cost you the game if you don't get divine shield.
I agree with you, but it just is so hilarious that they would decide to take Amalgadon out and put in such a very specific replacemen, thats all :)
Could you send a link to the 3Tier amalgam?
We dont have it in db yet, it is shown in the video. But it is basically a Tier 3 Amalgam with 3/4 stats and ALL tribe. It used to be a Tier 2 back in a day iirc, then it was removed, then Amalgadon got in, now it seems it is getting back as Tier 3.
Imho the old problem will resurface again, with it being accessible so early, you will be able to buff it via multiple options for different tribes and ppl will just run away with games off early Amalgams, as it was the case in the past. We shall see.
