Blizzard is truly an incredible company. To complement the ongoing card reveal season, Blizzard has decided to spread misinformation to the casual masses via Twitter, which goes well with that whole Elon Musk acquisition thing that's been going on.

They followed this up 11 minutes later with the following tweet:

Here's the problem. These cards are all from the Knights of the Frozen Throne adventure during your fight against The The Lich King. This content is ancient. Many players probably never took part in their fight against The Lich King and more importantly, folks that were around when it was current content back in 2017 probably don't remember the exact cards used in the fight very well.
With players looking for new cards, they're going to assume at a glance that an official Blizzard account is giving them real news. People use apps like Twitter to scroll past information without looking any farther into anything, only reading headlines, which is why we're in this horrible age of people being so misinformed. Blizzard is disappointingly adding to this problem by promoting the new expansion under the guise of relevant reveals.
They are doing the community a disservice by pushing out content like this. As a community website that has a large focus on delivering factual Hearthstone content, we condemn Blizzard's actions.

280 now, but yeah, Twitter is shit.
Twitter was great when there were people talking about random topics and chronological news. You'd go and see what going on in #Warcraft or such and maybe have a conversation with randos. Now? Political cesspool, regurgitated spam, and with Twitter not even showing you everything you follow, what's the point?
I totally understand why the landscape changed, people learned to more effectively monetize the platform, but damn I miss the old days.
My guess is, that fluxflashor means this as a joke... xD
No, I'm quite serious about it.
Blizzard taints their card reveal seasons with asinine bullshit and it makes no sense. We're already getting cards with the wrong stats, old cards mixed in with new (they addressed this saying well some people might not have seen the other cards), and the countdowns all being wrong because Blizzard doesn't understand how timezones work.
There are so many other ways they can hype stuff up. Putting out old cards masquerading as new ones isn't it.
Do you give tirades to people on April Fool's day too?
I found their tweet rather innocent and benevolent.
Wouldn't go so far to call it misinformation. I mean if we can't have jokes about "non important" stuff such as video games - what are we even doing?
Blizzard have fucked up so much that it become characteristic by this point.. But I wouldn't scold them for a seemingly bad joke.
You sound pretty upset and I don't blame ya. Feels like society is getting more and more broken due to social media. The dangerous precedent that just happened with Twitter is a huge reminder of that. We can already see it fall apart in a matter of days, and it's only going to get worse.
Watching Twitter fall apart since Musk took over is hilarious. 44 Billion for a site that'll be worth a tenth of that in 5 years. It's Yahoo and Tumblr all over again.
The only reason I call it misinformation is because we are in a card reveal season. They really should consider their card reveal season sacred and with Blizzard having poor communication, it is my belief they deserve to be scolded for it. The only way they learn is if people are willing to talk about it.
There were so many different ways they could have gone about promoting the fact that card reveals were starting today. They could have showcased a piece of art and asked people what their favourite cards revealed so far are. Or, if they really wanted to dive back into Knights of the Frozen Throne's adventure, they could have easily done a "Card reveals are starting today, and we'd love to see Death Knights pull x from the past. What cards are you hoping DK gets?" which would have let them be silly (100 Armor, lol) but also encouraging people to talk about the new set and what they want to see.
Today was a poorly executed April Fools joke.
Nice Flux is a blue hair karen.
