Lol, everyone is worried about Algalon that nobody is talking about the Ignis' Kazakus impression!
Guess we have all the custom card types now (spell, minion and now weapon). And as before, definitely crafting golden day 1 for maximum golden value 🤩 (highly doubt Ignis will get the diamond treatment).
Just hoping there's enough low cost forging cards so we can play Ignis on curve.
It just says “if you’ve forged a card” not if you played one. So you just need to divert 2 mana to upgrade a card on turn 2 or 3, and any Forge card can be used to set him up to play on 4.
Algalon the Observer will likely be one of the most obnoxious card ever printed, simply because it places no restriction other than 1 mana to immediately cap your opponent on the knee. Imagine sending the opponent's win con down the line, and your opponent having absolutely no way to get it back or for that matter, know that their win con has been practically stripped from their deck.
Its going to be this expansion's Tickatus at very least, and at its very worst it'll be this expansion's Theotar, the Mad Duke. Either way, I fully expect this card to get nerfed, if for nothing more than being a card that's unimaginably annoying to face against.
I mean, look. If your opponent is playing blood control and they play this on 4. Yes, if your hand is shit you might as well just concede straight away. With enough algalons in the meta you might even just uninstall the game.
Not really, just keep Sir Finely and some dredge in your back pocket if you're really stressed.
Then Finley goes upside-down in your deck, lol. I wouldn't play this unless I'm playing a full disruption deck...
Finley is currently one of the most skill testing card, and often enough with the least win play rates. And no ones going to keep finley in the mulligan, a dead card, until your opponent smirked for 5+ turns putting your cards down your deck.
Im ranting of course. But even rationally, I cant see what this card was designed for. Yes, there are people who like to play decks which does nothing other than screwing their opponents, with little to no consideration of actually winning, but is these the kind of players team5 wants to cater to?
Luckily there is a mechanic called Dredge but I doubt it'll save you against this card. Yet I can't wait for the Trolden clip where someone does Dredge their combo piece and wins regardless of Algalon
But in most cases Dredge doesn’t draw immediately. So you need Dredge plus a draw card/effect to go with it, or the funny clip will be someone trying to dredge their win con back to the top and then having it shuffled to the bottom again.
Another option could be two Dredge cards. Pick the one you want first since the second dredged card goes top, and hope the opponent places the second card at the bottom.
It has the symptom of Prince Keleseth in that if you get it on turn 4, you are winning by a mile.
Wow what an obnoxious hero power 😬
I don't really see a point in this legendary other than annoying your opponent, especially if said opponent is a combo deck. Might be considered a tech card in a super greedy, slow control deck.
Basically this is the deck version of Theotar, the Mad Duke
Perma Anti-tutor for 1 mana each turn on a 4 mana 4/4 sounds ridiculous but to lose your hero power may be bad. I can only imagine some stupid combo deck in wild that allows you to use your HP over and over just so you can find the worst card for your opponent to draw each turn, pretty much negating any chance of them being able to come back. Like old school Yatagarasu in Yugioh.
