Love the whole adventure. Really happy they went back to this format and infused some new cards into the game between expacs. Well worth my $20.
However, Herioc Reno really takes all the fun out of the game. Card pool seems very narrow for his HP "random spell" and he always has a great start while wiping your board with his small spells and HP casts. (Cinderstorm seems to auto-cast another Cinderstorm or Arcane Intellect way more than anything else, and Firelands Portal is Flamestrike or Crushing Walls over and over, as well.)
Not sure when the dev team will get it through their heads that a super heavy RNG clown fiesta that forces a restart by turn 4 a billion times while hoping for that one lucky game is not an enjoyable gaming experience.
I've always speculated how they could somewhat tip Raid the Sky Temple and The Amazing Reno so they aren't completely shit. Whenever I get that hp active, I always had this sneaky suspicion that its actually giving me cards I need every turn
If they can do this with heroic reno, then maybe its not so much a speculation on whether its actually possible or not.
100% agree. The win condition is having a run where Reno's spells somehow fail to connect. Absolutely pointless and zero replayability. Just want the damn thing over. That would be a tough match-up under any circumstances, but n/m let's give Reno 50 extra health, a head start in mana, and all the best highlander tools. Absolutely tone deaf from the devs.
I actually quite enjoyed it - though I skipped the non-free elements of the previous 2 single player content as f2p and wasn't worth the gold (in my case others loved it).
This time though you kinda need the cards and can't craft them for over a year, so saved and was ready :)
Play on all 3 servers so completing it 3 times over was a chore at times, but not excessively so.
Will do the heroic at some point but likely only on my main EU account. All in all an interesting way to finish the year.
After finishing the last chapter I am a bit confused about the plot.
he feels empty inside after destroying azeroth
That's probably my criticism of the adventure as well. The supposed 'choice' of either supporting the explorers or EVIL is rendered moot if both ending results in Galakrond's butt getting kicked.
Moreover, from the final wing, we see Rafaam and Galakrond scorching everything in Azeroth, with him victorious, but make no mention of what he does with Azeroth (king of the world, etc.) seemingly implying that the motivation for doing all this was because its evil.
In my opinion, the final wing should have been a straight up choice: joining explorers or EVIL, no jumping between good and evil wings (you still get all the cards). EVIL's end boss will be against all the explorers (for some reason throughout the entire adventure it is implied that the explorers you defeated aren't dead, but the EVIL guys are properly dead when defeated), and explorer's ending would be to stop Galakrond and Rafaam.
Of course the canon ending would be for the explorers to win.
Damn, boss fight against Rafaam is tought. He started to buff his minions, invoking new ones and crush me with more than 60 attack on board. 3 times in a row I ended the same way :(
That was really enjoyable - the plot twist wasn't that surprising - but going full circle with the story felt great.
I personally preferred the one where Rafaam wins it all and narrates his glorious escape, but Reno's always entertaining!
I played HS from the beta until a few weeks ago when Legends of Runeterra came out and I'm so glad I switched. RNG can make games fun, but HS takes it way too far. RNG should be like a little spice making matches different, not one of the main factors that determines how a match goes. I know some decks have little to no RNG, but far too many have it as one of their primary resources.
One of my favorite changes going from HS to LoR is that you can include 3 of any card in your deck. So no more highlander decks. No more hoping to draw that one card in your deck you need.
Bye :)
oh and ofc his hero power only accounts for Standard spells...which are totally not rigged at all and never actually hurt him.
People actually paid for this shit and they couldn't even be bothered to come up with a realistic challenge.
The E.V.I.L. side battle where you fight Anduin and Sylvanas was the most fun I've had in an adventure in a long time.
Slyvannas is still the leader of the horde in hearthstone? I don't know the current canon in WoW but surely she's no longer part of the horde right?
alright, someone tell me which absolute fucking retard designed that Togwaggle bossfight on heroic. It's literally impossible to beat, he just shits out candles and beats your face in without a counter.
Mimimi, stop crying. Heroic is expected to be hard.
I think team5 wants us to use Kobold Stickyfinger real real bad.
well then they're even more braindead, because by the time he gets a weapon worth fingering you're already dead...and then he just makes a new one anyways
not to mention he ALWAYS get a perfect opening.
It's literally the opposite of fun, you just have to get lucky. It's Maloriak all over again.
Honestly this is the kind of shit that makes me want to quit the game alltogether. Just a complete lack of playtesting
Since you're having such a bad time with this, have you considered not playing the singleplayer content? Just get your cards and go back to whatever you play.
i really like this chapter, there's so much flavor. Bravo Blizz!
