Are these heroic missions... easier than the other adventures'?
So far I've beaten all the missions but one with a standard Quest Rez Priest deck. That didn't work for Lazul (her ability to copy my cards was brutal against that) but I tried Galakrond Rogue and beat her first try.
Maybe it gets harder...
I personally am not satisfied about this adventure until now, and regret buying it. For the same cost, Naxxramas and Blackrock gave us better gameplay and better cards IMHO.
Something I noticed in the first chapter, but much mroe in the second, is how highroll-y are the decks you're given. Managed to lose to the senior explorers once because I ran out of cards and they got to a 5/5 Bloodmage Thalnos (I kept playing dragons, they kept killing them the same turn they were played) but when I beat them it was in 6 turns becuase I buffed my dragons in an insane way.
Managed to lose to Nithogg twice (!) before beating him, again, in a way the seemed ludicrous because it was so easy.
Really missing the dongeon run part in this adventure.
Cloning Device and Drakonid Operative are good examples of the poor consistency of the card texts.
The 1st one discover a "copy", and the 2nd one just discover a card, but both gives you a copy.
First I downvoted you bc i was thinking you are talking bullshit, but then i read it again. You are right. Drakonid Operative text should also be "discover a copy of a card in your opponent deck". Well played, I never noticed.
I enjoyed watching the meta change in response to last week’s new cards. The impact wasn’t as big as we see after nerfs, etc., but it was real. Who knew that Embiggen Druid had just needed one OP card all along?
I hope this gradual evolution continues over the next few weeks.
Yeah I just hit legend with Embiggen Druid this morning. My favorite thing was just that rogues can't sap half the minions in the deck. It felt like a nice counter to the predominant meta deck of the moment.
This wing has some of the cards I think are the most interesting of the whole adventure.
Cleric of Scales - sweet sweet card, I love everything about it. It's not op but it lets you fish a good spell from your deck while thinning it out. Being 1 mana, you can play in the early game and plan your following turns since the beginning of the match with more options. I really like this one.
Arcane Amplifier - I've played Odd Mage in the last 4 months even without any new additions and now I'll get this bad boy. Another sweet card in the right deck.
Explosive Evolution - I don't like Shaman and Evolve's PTSD aren't gone yet, but I appreciate the disruption aspect of this spell: it may backfire, but you can target your opponent's minions (bypass a taunt, disrupt the res pool, remove a minion with good buffs/effect,...). But hey, more flexibility is always welcome.
Discover a ____ from your deck = Discover + Draw
Discover a copy of ____ from your deck = Discover a copy
It's not rocket science...
sni snu snap, your mother is a trap
so Cleric of Scales is not like Shadow Visions ?
cz Shadow Vision text says discover a copy. but we get the actuall spell from cleric?
Yeah, Cleric of Scales shows 3 cards in your deck then draws you one, a bit like Tracking. While Shadow Visions will generate a new copy keeping the spell in your deck for you to draw.
I am not so sure since discover has always generated cards. One exception is Master's Call, that discovers a minion and draws all 3 if a beast. Whether it is 1 or 3, the cards are removed from the deck. I am still not sure what happens, but it seems more likely the spell is actually drawn.
Discover just shows you 3 cards and let you pick one. The card doesn't say copy so it lets you choose a spell from your deck. Most discover cards don't include 'from your deck' in their text which is why they generate cards. It's not an exception to the discover mechanic, master's call is an exception because it discovers from deck.
