Toxic Games is working on a celebratory version of Q.U.B.E, set to launch 10 years after the original’s release! Here’s a short summary of what features you can expect in the upcoming Q.U.B.E. 10th Anniversary edition:
- Refined visuals.
- Some sections being redesigned / revised.
- All of the content present in Q.U.B.E: Director’s Cut, released in 2014.
- Brand-new content including a new chapter entitled ‘Sector 8’.
Q.U.B.E: More Than a Remaster
Q.U.B.E. 10th Anniversary won’t be your run-of-the-mill remaster, including lots more content than a facelift and compatibility upgrades, which is what we’ve come to expect from most re-releases. The new chapter adds an additional 4-6 hours of gameplay and can be played after completely the original campaign.
Additionally, this will mark the Q.U.B.E. franchise’s first entry to be playable on the latest consoles, launching on Xbox Series X|S and Playstation 5 in addition to Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch and Steam & the Epic Games Store for PC. Q.U.B.E. 2 is also being ported to Xbox Series X|S and Playstation 5.
The game has been entirely rebuilt from the ground up in Unreal Engine 4 – and even though everyone is currently falling head over heels for UE5, let’s not forget that UE4 is still a beast of a game engine. The Anniversary Edition’s trailer clearly shows the new visuals are in no way dated.
We don’t have an exact release date yet, but considering the vague “summer” launch we can probably expect the game to drop sometime in August.
