This reveal season is going to be a bit different since Blizzard made an oops and leaked all the cards in the set early. All the new cards have already been added to our database, which means you can build decks with them, and they will be be visible on our expansion page for The Great Dark Beyond. This also means you can already start to vote and discuss every single card if you wish, which gives us plenty of time to get scores building for an incredible Community Compendium once the reveal season is over.
But, even though all the cards have been leaked, we will be covering the cards in daily recap articles too. Leaked cards will appear on the website as if they were uncollected in your Hearthstone collection manager, so until they show up as their usual self, take their stats and text with care. We don't know if the cards that were accidentally pushed were final; Blizzard has made last minute balance changes before. Doing daily recaps gives everyone a chance to focus their attention to a select few cards together which will make for good targeted discussion and allow everyone to ignore the leaks if they wish. Obviously, it's going to be hard to completely ignore leaks here on the site, but this may help a little bit if you want to be surprised every day.
Also, we are missing tokens across the board, so any cards with tokens are still slightly in the dark.
Without further ado, let's take a look at the new cards coming in The Great Dark Beyond that were revealed today, October 12, 2024.

Kil'jaeden - Its a control buster, or a reno buster, because it cant be countered, you cant fatigue, and boomboss cant do shit to you once this is played. The only way to win after this is played is to kill the opponent, and fast. That said, this card is probably not gonna see much play outside of reno decks because 95% of the time you'd either die way before this card is relevant, or you'll just win without it.
Eredar Brute - Its a common card because you just know its gonna get nerfed. And if it doesnt get nerfed its a slap in the face for any and all aggro decks out there that doesnt go tall. Apart of that, its also packs abuse potential with pally and Showdown!, and is not a bad card in its own right anywhere around 5 mana and below.
Lunar Trailblazer - In a way, its another skyla, but I think its redundant. Not only is it inconsistent, but you dont really need so many cards that do the same thing in the deck. Synergy with draenei may make it more relevant.
Astral Vigilant - This card replicates your win con, so obviously its gonna see play
I don't have high hopes for Eredar Brute. Rabble Bouncer was a card that got hyped as an aggro killer in previews and it literally did nothing. Eredar Brute is obviously a much better card, but the overall power level is so much higher. If your opponent isn't playing a go-wide deck, it's awful. I don't think a card like that has a home nowadays.
Agreed that rabble bouncer did nothing, because outside of the scenario of a zero mana 2/7 taunt, its basically a terrible card and at 2 damage allows just about any serious card above 1 mana to value trade with it.
If I can play this at 3-4 mana, it's still a good card, on top of lifesteal being such a annoying keyword to face against. As with most meta dependent card obviously its power level is restricted, but its the sort of card that when it works its incredible enough to win games. I'd be surprised if it doesnt see any play whatsoever.
On the contrary, I don't think that a conditional 3-4 mana 5/6 is good enough. Unless the opponent's board is stuffed full and you drew it by turn 3, it's not doing much. Maybe it sees play if aggro is really bad, but it's so useless outside of every matchup except exactly Pirate DH. I certainly doubt it gets nerfed, more likely that they nerf the overwhelming aggro decks forcing players to play Brute.
Eredar Brute's only purpose is widening neutral demon pool for standard imo. There is only Observer of Mysteries on standard. When you discover a demon, you can only find that and amalgams with classes that have no demons, so they needed to include some neutral demons to decrease the chances of discovering Kil'jaeden for non-demon classes while being good enough to discover so they produced some demons that is not good while building deck but can be good for discover mechanic. That is just a card for discovering and i think it is a good/playable card if you discover. I don't think we need to evaluate that card for deckbuilding.
We can't really evaluate all cards for only deckbuilding purposes. There is also Arena too and that's a good arena card aswell. Oh, also discovering Kil'jaeden on arena as a fixed mechanic might be problematic too for drafting with Relentless Wrathguard. I didn't check the arena rotation yet but with expansion's release there will be 6x Demons + amalgams for standard so, evaluating cards for only deckbuilding and ladder feels wrong to me.
It is a 4/5 card imo if you consider all features. It balances the pool while giving a nice option.
