Wild Archetype: Highlander Paladin Ranked

This is my highlander control paladin. I usually stick to standard but control paladin isn't viable. So I have begun delving into wild. This is the list I'm working towards and would welcome any help making the deck better. I very much enjoy playing the same deck across expansion and look to keep improving this with each expansion.

The basis of the deck is simple: stop aggro from killing with the combination of healing and removal; swing run mid-range out of cards with the removal options; and use Value'Nar to keep damaging going face against control decks.

The best cards I have found to keep early are:

  • Finley, Zeph, Pyro, Tar Creeper, and Stonehill Defender. It doesn't matter the match up, I always keep these cards.

With Finley, the hero power pick varies on the match up.

  • Against aggro, Warrior, Priest, Mage and Druid can really help you get to turn 6 where you can start turning the corner.
  • For control decks, I usually choose Hunter or Paladin. They can really grind out resources and help you win late into the game.
  • Warlock is good if you are against control and lacking any major threats in hand.

I am currently not able to run this list because i have not yet crafted Edric the Pure, Forbidden Healing, Enter the Colosseum, or Corpse Taker.

Instead I am running Countess Ashmore, Rustic Raider, Time Out and Maiv

In my experience, you can usually stave off aggro really easy with some high roll exceptions. Face decks are almost a guaranteed win if you don't draw the top half of your curve exclusively. Most control decks are easily beaten if they don't have a burst combo. Midrange is the hardest match up but if you can turn the corner you are set.

If anyone has questions or comments let me know. I look forward to criticism.

P.S. This is my first deck guide. So I apologies for it not being very neat.
