With the removal of Mountain Giant and Twilight Drake from the Core set (or rather the not including) handlock vanished from standard.

Key Cards:

With 4 new key cards from United in Stormwind there will be a revival:

• Entitled Customer: This should clear most boards, similar to Twisting Nether but 2 turns earlier plus a body.
• Dark Alley Pact: Way more flexible than Mountain Giant as it can still provide pressure against aggro decks where.
• Anetheron: Also good if just played as a 8/6 if the required handsize cannot be reached.
• Goldshire Gnoll: Helps greatly against aggro and can usually land on turn 3 if needed.

Muligan:

Always toss Encumbered Pack Mule as its effect only happens on draw

If you expect an aggro deck from your opponent. The best cards to keep are:

• Touch of the Nathrezim
• Drain Soul
• Soul Shear
• Goldshire Gnoll
• School Spirits

Against Midrange and Control

• Dark Alley Pact
• Anetheron
• Goldshire Gnoll

Gameplay:

VS aggro:

Your gameplan should be to either control the game until your enemies aggression has staved offed by using early game removal and trying to maintain a decent handsize to gain the board with a medium sized Dark Alley Pact or a board clearing Entitled Customer. Then try to pilot your lead to a victory.

VS control:

Try to reach 10 cards in hand by turn 4 and either drop a combination of Dark Alley Pact, Anetheron and Goldshire Gnoll. Either close out the game with these cards of be using Lord Jaraxxus

Vs midrange:

Should be the same gameplan as with control but if he has an explosive start don't hesitate to use some removal to remain relatively healthy.
