INTRODUCTION
Greetings! I'm Esparanta, an avid Wild deck tinkerer who loves to try different deck ideas. This time, I would like to show you a deck combined with three different archetypes into one. Let's take a look at them briefly, then move onto details:
- Highlander: Made as one of each, this is the archetype to activate Zephrys the Great and Reno Jackson, should the need arises.
- Questline: It's based around completing each step of Find the Imposter. In total, you need to play 6xSI:7 cards, 2xSI:7 for each step. Bounce effects such as Shadowstep and Sonya Shadowdancer allows you to complete it without much hassle.
- Combo: Festival of Legends expansion gave rebirth to Combo archetype. Reason behind is that alongside new cards printed such as Disc Jockey and Record Scratcher, Whirlkick Master and Field Contact were around way back then. Now, with new and old cards together, it looks like Combo archetype is in harmony.
GAMEPLAN
It's time to have a look at each play-style of archetypes. Highlander is obvious one, works like above, so I'll start with...
- Questline: Before going into further detail, Spymaster Scabbs will be your main reward if you complete each step of questline. Know that each step will also generate one of Gizmo cards seen below...
(Your main and sub-rewards. Don't forget to shuffle more with Togwaggle's Scheme.)
- Here are all SI:7 cards in the deck. Try to bounce them back as much as you can to extend their abilities...
(You have only 6xSI:7 cards in total. Replay them with bounce effects.)
- So, here are your bounce tactics...
(Generic bounce package.)
(Advanced bounce package.)
(E.T.C bounce package. Try an opening with Potion of Illusion first, then Bounce Around.)
(This combo allows you to complete all questline steps in one turn!)
2. Combo: Since some of SI:7 cards are Combo cards and recent expansion brought up new Combo tools, why not expand it further? In this archetype, you have three main cards to unleash its potential...
(Generate, draw and mana-cheat! All in one!)
- You have 11 Combo cards in total to activate card effects from above. Feel free to have a look at them below:
(Your Combo cards. Utilize every single one of them wisely!)
(Your mana-cheat cards, which allow you get more value from Whirlkick Master in one turn!)
TIPS AND TRICKS
- Shadow of Demise is here to play another bounce effect such as Breakdance.
- It's recommended to permanently stealth Whirlkick Master with Noggen-Fog Generator. As long as you don't attack with Whirlkick Master, your opponent can't target it and you can freely generate more value.
- Sonya Shadowdancer can be used as a board sweeper. Provided you can cheat out mana, SI:7 Operative and minion summoned from Breakdance can hit the board repeatedly.
- Like Field Contact, Metrognome can draw a bunch of cards in one turn. Utilize him wisely.
- Well-timed Spammy Arcanist can turn the tides in your favor. Anti-tool for Control decks.
- Potionmaster Putricide and Photographer Fizzle are very invaluable cards besides Questline and Combo strategies. Their value generation are immersive and can be tedious if not dealt with care.
CARD SUGGESTIONS
Well, I know, around 26k dust to make this deck from scratch is really expensive. Fortunately, I've budget suggestions to swap some cards with. Let's see...
- Shadow of Demise: It's used for copying bounce effects. You can swap with any card, so why not try Gadgetzan Ferryman? He can bounce and has Combo effect, meaning Whirlkick Master and Field Contact will like him pretty much.
- Tenwu of the Red Smoke: Don't want to spend 1600 dust on an expensive bounce card? Cheat Death will serve you well.
- Vanessa VanCleef: Besides Disc Jockey, she is a solid 2-Mana Combo minion. I can relate if you don't want to spend 1600 dust just for her, so why not give Beatboxer a go?
- Scabbs Cutterbutter/Shadowcrafter Scabbs: Scabbs cards are really good at mana-cheat tactics. I suppose Preparation is the best alternative for you but don't expect the deck working like before, be warned. Rhyme Spinner is your alternative to contest the board.
- Emperor Thaurissan: He excels at cheating mana, like Efficient Octo-bot. If you didn't buy Blackrock Mountain adventure or don't want to spend 1600 dust, yet still wanting to keep Combo tactics intact, may I suggest Ghostly Strike?
- Sonya Shadowdancer: If you don't care about combo tactics with her, or more value retrieval, switch her with any card. If you want to keep Combo tactics ongoing, Defias Ringleader is really a good candidate for contesting the board.
- Potionmaster Putricide/Photographer Fizzle: Your extra value factories. I guess Eviscerate and/or EVIL Miscreant can work alongside Combo tactics.
- Bounce Around (ft. Garona): Used in E.T.C., Band Manager as extra deck, Bounce is used to extend combos. If you don't have dust to craft or want to counter specific decks, here are the suggestions:
- Skulking Geist/Steamcleaner to counter Jade/Mill Druids.
- Kobold Stickyfinger to steal Kingsbane.
- Eater of Secrets against Secret Mages.
CONCLUSION
These are all suggestions I can come up with to reduce the cost of crafting this deck. If you have better ideas, let me know in comments. At least you can save up to 16k dust 😅
Thanks for reading the guide everyone, hope you enjoyed. If you have any questions to understand the deck better, feel free to write down in comments. Have fun in Wild format and I wish you all have a nice day.
