Ragnaros' Fire Festival
Defeat your opponent, but if you feed an ever-growing, minion-eating, tiny Fire Lord, there may be a reward in it for you!
This Tavern Brawl requires tavern patrons to create their own decks to battle each other. The unique mechanic is a Mini Ragnaros that switches sides of the board and deals damage to each player.
How it Works
- Each time a minion dies, Mini Ragnaros will grow (Attack increases).
- After Mini Ragnaros attacks, he will switch sides.
- If the side of the board is full that Mini Ragnaros wants to move to, he will not move.
Neat Interactions
It is possible to get multiple Mini Ragnaros cards onto the field through clone, shuffle, and return to hand mechanics. If you return Mini Ragnaros to you or your opponent's hand, a new one will spawn when the turn ends.
Silencing Mini Ragnaros through an AOE silence spell like Mass Dispel will prevent a new Mini Ragnaros from spawning.
Unlocking the Fire Festival Fireworks Emote
There is a special emote available for the "wow" emote during the Fire Festival. By feeding Ragnaros, this will level up your available emote for the duration of the event.
- 8 minions killed
- 30 minions killed
- 60 minions killed

Really mind boggling how many opponents do not read or understand what the goal is of this particular Tavern brawl. Flabbergasted.
So true. I've got the same problems with the most of them.
After dailies can be solved by challenging a friend, getting the emote by challenging a friend for tavern will be to.
I've created a specially Shaman deck to try for this. If somebody wanna try with me getting these emotes: Cedisfaction#2524
72 kills --> no emote
The 549 means you already have it by now: the game kept track from the previous times this Brawl was available, so you already completed the 60 total kills required to upgrade your "Wow" emote.
Ah okay, ty.
So I guess the emote doesnt work for duels as well :/
I guess not? I haven't checked myself.
That was a bit underwhelming. I played against someone who just wanted to kill me, so I killed him ;) and then I found out I already had 90 kills from earlier.
I think i found a little bug, when mini-rag hit a Eternium Rover and trigger its effect, somehow mini-rag would end his incineration and immediately switch side.
Mine says:
MINI-RAG KILLS: 20
TOTAL: 445
The emote upgrade is when total goes above 60?
Yes, you should already have the fireworks on your "Wow" emote.
I love this brawl! "Enrage" warrior is one of my favourite archetypes, but it's never good on ladder. Where else can you play Axe Flinger, Gurubashi Berserker and patrons.
Do you need the 60 killed ones in the same game or does it count from match to match?
It is cumulative: after each game a box appears showing your running total.
The surprise MVP for me was Healing Totem, which always stops your minions from dying to Mini-Rag. (Note Rag does still gain attack when he reduces your minions to 0 health, but the totem brings them back to 1 health afterwards.) It was so good I went out of my way to make Odd Shaman just to guarantee I had one of these guys around.
Eggs are soo good in this Brawl :) They eat up Rag shots and leave a minion on your side to attack the enemy.
Apparently your status from the previous Fire Festival still works so no need to farm level 3 Fireworks again!
