mmm... Jewel of N'Zoth, Idol of Y'Shaarj... Which classes will get a 8 mana spell of C'thun and Yogg?
About the card, it's fine, but idk if is enough to be competitive. Shadow Essence is better because comes earlier, but Idol of Y'Shaarj summons a really HUGE body and that set priest can cheat the mana of his cards easily.
We will see when full set is revealed.
I've forgot... Darkmoon Rabbit sinergy!!!

Seems way too slow. Maybe there will be some quirky combo decks or maybe you'll just want to assert dominance with a massive Pen Flinger or something, but I suspect this won't see much play.
A little slow, but if your deck have some powerful deathrattles of different tribes, a layer N'zoth will make your win condition, if your opponent is not already dead
Even though it only costs 2 more mana than Shadow Essence for twice the size, it seems too slow. At 8 mana, you might as well have just played the card instead in most instances.
its really good with High Abbess Alura.
also you can discount it so might be played in t6 or earlier. i like it <3
A bit too expensive. Shadow Visions works because if gets out minions with powerful effects early enough to contest aggro. This doesn't really do that. I'm sure it won't feel bad to play, it's just not what res priest needs to be competitive.
This post is discussing the wild format.
Isolated, it's mediocre at best, but with all the mana cheating Priest is getting, it'll sure see play, somewhere...
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
Another expansion, another push for Big Priest... This was a spell that was designed to stay in your hand and get discounted for a big pay-off. I mean, a 10/10 is nothing to scoff at, if you can't remove it then you are pretty much dead. And Priest can generate multiple copies of this.
This ain't no place for a hero
Pretty interesting, has it's uses but kinda not sure if actually sees play

I'm not confident this sees play, even with Discount Spell Priest becoming their shiny new archetype. Shadow Essence was good because it effectively let you cheat out expensive cards, this theoretically can get cheap enough to do the same, but it requires much more set up than Shadow Essence did. It's a card that could explode onto the scene, but I have a hard time seeing it atm.
I have the same problem with this card that I have with all of Big Warriors cheat cards, it costs too much. By the time you get to 8 mana, you could just play the minion that you are cheating out. So really, this isn't a "cheat" card, it is just a tutor for your big minions.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
So we got a reprint (kinda) of Shadow Essence. Seems strong when cheated out with [Hearthstone Card (High Abbes Alura) Not Found]. But where i'm the MOST terrified of this card, is wild. Sure it's more expansive then Shadow Essence, and the only reason Shadow Essence made Big priest a reliable thing, was because it came out early. However i'm sure Ress priests and Big priests will still run this card, because it gives double the stats compared to normal. And Palm Reading can make Idol of Y'Shaarj and Shadow Essence come out earlier... oh no....
Standard: If there is going to be some kind of ress priest again (PLEASE NO), then it will see play. Otherwise i'm not sure if it will honestly. For standard Idol of Y'Shaarj isn't the greatest of cards...
Wild: I'm fairly sure that Big Priest is going to experiment with Idol of Y'Shaarj and Palm Reading. Time will certainly tell if this will be good, because if it is a good combo. We will see LOTS of Big priest popping back up...
Also i'm 100% sure they decided to make Idol of Y'Shaarj a priest card, because of Big priest.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
I think it's actually a lot different than Shadow Essence.
Shadow Essence is used for getting smaller versions of big cards, but Idol of Y'Shaarj can be used to create a big version of a card that is much better when bigger, like anything with Rush or Charge or Lifesteal, or stuff that snowballs when it sticks (but usually doesn't stick due to small health).
Knock, knock:
Who's there?
Big Priest.
Big Priest, who?
Shut up and get in my deck
I don't see a place for this in the current meta, even with the new cards. Also can't see this in wild, big priest wants cheap spells to bring big minions to revive.
Res priest again huh.. and now you can discount those cards with that new 3 cost spell.. this is gonna be "fun"
The vision of a gigantic Pen Flinger got me giggling good
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
With all the spell discount spell tools priest is getting this might be quite good.
worse Dinosize
TOTAL CORRUPTION
TOTAL POWAAAAAAA
Great value in the right deck, but super expensive. But now Priest is getting so many cost reducers (plus we already have Fate Weaver), this might be problematic.
"Be excellent to each other." -Bill and Ted
It looks okay. But in reality its too expensive. If it gets to 6 mana via Palm Reading or Nazmani Bloodweaver, then its okay but not great. Otherwise, when is priest ever going to play this without also dying?
Someone, quick, I don't have time to explain, just make a deck where the only minion is Stonetusk Boar.
Rating cards on coolness factor rather than predicting power because I like screwing up rating averages (and because I suck at predicting real power levels, but we'll ignore that LUL)
Wins per class (2/6/22): DH-197; Druid-996; Hunter-91«60; Mage-1056; Paladin-1126; Priest-746; Rogue-961; Shaman-1095; Warlock-871; Warrior-906
I hate this card already turn your silverback into a useful minion with it! or cheese out a lifesteal taunt I think it's too expensive to see much play in rez priest so big priest it is!
Self proclaimed good at battlegrounds
The significance of Barnes and Shadow Essence in Big Priest of old (or wild) is that they cheated big minions out earlier than they can be played to get powerful effects and powerful resurrection targets. With Idol of Y'Shaarj entering play 2-3 turns later, the impact of cheating out big minions is drastically lessened as by turn 8, you can practically play the minions you're trying to cheat out with the spell. The single 10/10 body doesn't matter that much as it comes out late enough in the game where either aggressive decks run you down or slower decks find removal for it. Overall, this is way too slow for Resurrect Priest.
For glory, honor, and gold!
Slow, not good enough to be included in Rez Priest.
Very annoying card. Free From Amber, but you can kind of choose the minions you want to get.
Annoying in big priest, but not unbearable because it's already turn 8 and you should be able to handle big minions by now.

Got no idea on what kind of deck this would be played on but im already sure it won't be a fun one to play against one
All hail the banshee queen.
Big Priest is fine with Shadow Essene.
Anything worth putting in your deck is worth being a 8 Mana 10/10.
Especially Archmage Vargoth.
Hey, you heard about that Mario guy?
This is pretty good, especially when considering that Priest's whole thing this expansion revolves around discounting the cost of spells in their hand. It's already a solid play at 8 mana, but if you can discount it a couple of times it becomes a game-altering swing very early.
I don't want to cure cancer; I want to turn people into dinosaurs.
Worst? You're making a 10/10 copy of an existing minion in your deck so you don't have to worry about having your minion on board the turn before that can be killed. Besides that in this expansion you're getting a lot of mana cost reduction card so I think this is slightly better than Dinosize in my opinion

More Res Priest, More Res Priest! I know most people hate it, but I'm glad to see support for it every now and then. This is a big card and even with all the spell reduction I don't see it being too much of an issue, honestly.
There are some neat applications where you - instead of pulling a normally big minion to Res later - pull a small minion with a good effect and make it massive and harder to kill. Imagine a 10/10 Evasive Wyrm, for example.
Welcome to the site!
As if Priests weren't annoying enough, they get even more tools to be obnoxious
If you can consistently hit this with the mana discounts that Priest has, it might be good enough to play. I just don't know that it will be fast enough to get out big minion copies.
Unfortunately, common sense isn't as common as it should be.
