I wish they’d make class packs a thing. Way better for those of us not dropping hundreds of dollars on the game who want to just work on a class or two.
Just curious, does this Garrosh have any unique voice lines? I know they were planning on updating Scholar Jaina and Tin Can Uther, and Warsong Rexxar maybe had two or three unique lines. Did they get lazy again with Garrosh or are any of his new?
I don't have it and have not seen a youtube video showing his emotes, but I expect they are currently the normal ones. However, I believe the intent was to make all Book of Heroes portraits have new emotes eventually.
I'm torn because I like the portrait, but I don't want to buy it... But I want it...
Yeah, it is quite a neat portrait. I'm only skipping it because I rarely play warrior and I have always disliked using Garrosh to represent me (he's mush too brash and arrogant for my tastes), so being honest with myself, I'd never use it.
Same! Something about his ”Huh, Greetings!” But I use him more ever since I hit the 500 wins mark (Thanks, Bomb Warrior!). But it’s also weird thinking I don’t use him due to his brash personality, so instead I use Mr “I AM THE END OF ALL THINGS!” 😂
Yes, Deathwing is very modest... Thankfully I have cuddly old Magni to even things out.
Finished this in like 30 minutes. Most of the matches wasn't hard, but there's certainly some annoying ones, like Rehgar and the final match against Thrall. Thrall's matches are especially strange. Seems like completely random whether he will go face or trade with doomhammer. On that note, if he plays like nothing and just go face with doomhammer you're pretty much dead unless you can stall out with sheild block.
The story stops right before his first defeat, so its in effect ignoring the fact that he's dead at the end. Even the final soliloquy brazenly boast his strength and how powerful he is, no one can stop him, Thrall's an idiot, etc. Ironic really.
I expect most of the stories to stop at the end of Mists of Pandaria. Most of the characters' stories are on-going in WoW (including Uther), but their emotes in HS are based on what we knew at the end of MoP, so it is the best way to show players who the basic heroes are as presented in-game.
They might find space to go further with a couple of heroes, e.g. Valeera has plenty to say from the comics - some of which is non-canon now so it'll be interesting to see what they do with that - but they could definitely fit in a bit about her more recent roles since she's been given a lot more to do since HS put the spotlight on her.
As an aside, I think Valeera has accidentally found herself in one of the most enviable positions in Warcraft. She's welcome in and respected by both the Horde and Alliance, and is privy to many of their leaders' discussions, but she is not part of either faction and is under no obligation to carry out their orders. The one thing she is loyal to (the Wrynn family) is voluntary, and she has a... relaxed relationship with SI:7 who don't even know she's sneaking in and out of Stormwind Keep most of the time.
It could've ended with Garrosh's first loss, coincidentally at the same time he absorbed Ysharaaj's heart. I honestly thought it was a missed opportunity to design the matchup to show both horde and alliance ganging up on him. So the matchup would be you beating two heroes from both sides before finally being beaten yourself, in a sort of glorified supposed to lose match. Since we all know he lost at the end, it would halt our natural sense to press the concede button early.
As it happens, Garrosh does transform at the end of this story (or at least I don't think its possible not to), but the story ends with him victorious over Thrall. Maybe its because he's already the dedicated villain in WoW lore so its strange to discuss his story without showing the true ending.
While I agree they could have added a phase against Alliance/Horde heroes, the assumption I quoted cannot be made. The main purpose of the Book of Heroes is to give greater context to players who aren't familiar with Warcraft lore, and many players wouldn't know Garrosh loses. So avoiding the issue of people conceding and then complaining that it was not obvious what they were meant to do will require removing player agency in one way or another. Having Garrosh tell us heroes beat him was one of several options here.
Was this handled perfectly? No, but I think it was probably the least confusing approach to players who don't know the story. I recall Jaina's fight against Archimonde had the final stuff all flash by during the game, and it was very difficult to follow even if you knew what happened.
I had already beat the Hunter Book of Heroes but had to restart it when there was a reward tied to it. After winning round 1, the game recognized that I had beaten the content and gave me the reward. I closed it and didn't finish the run. Now I can't concede (it just restarts the attempt over and over) so I have to beat those before I can access the Warrior Book. :(
There should be a 'Retire' button on the deck view screen.
Is that new? Don't remember that from before.
Yeah, I don't remember that option being available too. But it is available now, at least on Garrosh's adventure
Thanks for the info. Turns out I'm an idiot and never realized I had to play through the stories a second time for achievements, anyway.
The sixth battle (Theramore) is the toughest one of these yet for me.
Not lucky enough to get the 1 out of 10 legendary of the warrior pack, as happened for the mage and hunter ones. Hope for the remaining 7 class packs.
I missed the hunter legendary but got Mage. Here's hoping we can hit Warrior
