Won't see play in wild, not up to snuff for those decks. However it could push standard rez priest into a tier 3-4 sort of area. Perhaps even higher depending on the other cards in the expansion.
Unless they rework the graveyard mechanic, they’re going to be in a very tough spot continuing trying to come up with cards to keep resurrect priest a thing.
Wow the statline on Psychopomp is rough!! Good thing any decent deathrattle with reborn is well worth the 4 mana cost. Even better would be something like Catrina Muerte. Probably a solid card, and a great tool for Deathrattle Priests, and maybe for Big Priest with targets like Mosh'Ogg Enforcer
attempt at rez priest in standard without being a big priest style. i like it
the fact that all the current comments here adress the Big Priest issue is a garantee that team 5 thinks of big priest whenever they have to print cards as the horrid stats in this card is a clear statement that they are trying to avoid anymore stuff to buff Big Priest in wild
The effect seems really powerful (thus the garbage stats) although it seems really unreliable. Don't mistaken me, you summon a sticky minion which is cool, but there are a few cons. To begin with, it's not that hard to pollute Priest's resurrect pool, so you may spend 4 mana for a 3/1 and, let's say, one of Leeroy Jenkins' Whelps with Reborn.
The 1 health makes it awkward to be played even on curve in a sort of Midrange deck.
Moreover, if played in a Resurrect deck you may summon this very minion with Mass Resurrection, resulting in a terrible pull.
I'm sure we will get a couple of cards that will (try to) justify the inclusion of this card in a deck, but up to now I'm kinda uncertain about this.
The 3/1 in the resurrect pool gets kinda negated by the fact it adds the card you resurrect twice because of the Reborn. Also Resurrect effects should be inconsistent - Blizzard realized that I think if you get Lich King or Statue each time it is broken, but making rng based with higher potential upside is a lot better.
You actually made a point that I didn't consider: we got used to the Resurrection mechanic to be something swingy and almost game winning. Wall Priest and, Clone Priest and Big Priest are perfect examples of this.
But just because we've had such broken cards, it doesn't mean it should be the normal power level of said mechanic.
Surely not for Big Priest as people have already stated, but it does create some annoyingly sticky minions. Will be frustrating to play against, I'd imagine.
At least this resurrect card in and of itself is a minion. So it adds a really bad card to the resurrect pool. So I doubt Big Priest in wild would want to add it. In standard this might be decent as there’s only mass resurrect as another option.
Perhaps some form of wall priest could come back. Big sticky taunts that become stickier and then divine spirit/ inner fire
Potentially good for a Deathrattle Priest, to get two more procs of a Deathrattle. Thankfully not-so-good for a Big Priest, as they wouldn't dare damage their pool of resurrect/Barnes targets.
