Armor Vendor - Neutral Rare Minion
Quote From Sinti The oh-so-loved 1-1-3 statline continues! This one seems to be aimed for Control decks rather than fast ones though, you get something to play on turn 1 and you get 4 Armor cushion. The fact your opponent also gets 4 Armor is pretty much irrelevant in that scenario. Can't see this being played in any fast deck even with those stats, you do not want to give your opponent 4 more points of Armor you will have to go through. Feels like the anti-aggro card everyone was hoping for maybe?
Barricade - Warrior & Paladin Common Spell
Quote From Aesan Dual Class representation continues with this spell, this time for both Warrior and Paladin. On a technical level, it is a great fit for a Mini Set: you've got two classes able to play around with something new instead of just one, which matters when there are not that many new cards in the first place.
When it comes to this particular effect, however, it fails to impress at a first glance. A single 2/4 taunt for 4 mana is obviously awful, and in order to meet the condition for two of them, you cannot have anything else active on the board (which is usually not where you want to be by this point in the game). There are a lot of stronger cards at this cost: to mention favorites such as Sword Eater or Bone Wraith.
That said, there are decks like Big Warrior or the lesser-known Big Paladin (Duel! fans, rejoice!) that will appreciate the fact this is not a minion messing up their big curve and payoffs. It plays along well with Commencement, stalling for your survival in earlier turns. Archmage Vargoth is always there as well, up for some hijinks. Alas, High Abbess Alura may not give you her blessing in this form. For now, let's call it fairly underwhelming.

Armor Vendor is currently the greatest card revealed so far, almost single handedly rubbishes face decks and will be seeing play until it rotates next year. There's just no other way to describe it. Aggro will play this, midrange will play this, even combo will play this card. A nice option for every single rogue deck to exist until rotation. Truly a 5 star card.
Barricade? Stall card at best, worthless at worst. Its clearly support for big decks, but 4 mana for double 2/4? 2 attack barely kills anything, and 4 health can't really take all that much either. In the late game is nearly impossible to play, since you're better off playing your big minions. So, not my cup of tea as a defensive option unless aggro comes crawling everywhere and you're insisting on playing big warrior/pally.
Why will Aggro play Armor Vendor? There are enough more aggressive 1-drops out there for an aggro deck.
Its a 1/3 minion and there's not a lot of it currently. I'm thinking that its more relevant for zoolock perhaps. Generally, if you're not playing a straight up face aggro deck, the only question to ask is why not?
Just waiting for someone to build Armor Vendor into a wild list with Shudderwock and Platebreaker.
That sounds pretty fun!
I am really liking the idea of the armor minion.
Oh we got a new Mistress of Mixtures!
Hell Yeah! My favorite deck, Control Warrior, gets a 5* support.
I really like the spell! How long will it go? How long will it go?
Yes, and this has better stats than Saronite Chain Gang, which was a playable card even after the nerf. Since it's a spell it can be run in decks built around Commencement or Duel!.
Chain gang has no requirement though, and was mainly used for evolve and buffs(keleseth/taunt warrior but espcially keleseth).
Yes, those were its main uses (buff not so much after the nerf), but I've also seen it used as a filler card to stay alive into the mid-game.
Another comparison would be Phantom Militia, which was mainly used to complete Fire Plume's Heart, but was quite effective as protection and this is gives you 66% off on the second taunt.
I don't think the requirement is much of a drawback when used in slower decks. It does disqualify the card for tempo decks.
Top card reminds me of Mistress of Mixtures.
It indeed fills a similar role, but Armor Vendor is probably better in most decks, since its battlecry is not lost if your hero is undamaged. For Warrior it combines very well with Shield Slam and some Wild Druid cards also have armor synergy. Maybe in Warlock you'd want Mistress instead, since it's easy to damage your hero and your opponent wouldn't benefit. You could play one of each in Highlander decks.
Control, control, control... I hope there will be some non control cards too. :/
I see Amor Vendor in Odd Warrior and maybe an alternative to Mistress of mixtures. Very strong!
Not to decry your opinion, but very often control never really dominates the meta, and even if it does not for long. Thing tend to wax and wane, and the meta has been aggro oriented for quite a long time. It'll be refreshing for control tools to slow things down for a bit
*looks at Reno Priest in Wild*
Ok...
But when one thing is certain in the world: Say something against control and you get downvoted in a HS forum. ^^
DUEL PALLY SUPPORT. Yeah baby, that’s what we’ve been waiting for, that’s what its all about
So who would use the armor vendor? Zoolock since it gives your hero 4 extra health for life taps and use of raise dead?
Warrior who run super control heavy decks that go into the very late game and just want extra armor?
Wild odd warrior possibly cause shieldslam and they dong care about oponents armor.
