During datamining today we discovered 4 new heroes added to Hearthstone and they're all going to be available in bundles!
- Contents of the bundles are unknown at this time.
- There is a mega-bundle that contains all the new portraits. Unsure if there are additional contents.
Here are each of the new heroes and how they can be obtained (as far as we know).

Rogue is the only class left that doesn't have heroes of both sexes, so I think we can expect a new (male) rogue some time soon.
You looking good Valeera.
I'd probably get this bundle just for the priest and rogue skins if it's reasonably priced. I really hope Blizzard starts printing more skins and relies on that for a profit, rather than relying on the card pack sales.
I've been preaching cosmetic sales for way too long. I hope it's Legends of Runeterra that has put this pressure on Blizzard to perform better in this space.
Now we just need a random hero option for out decks :D
Hearthstone has a real problem with cosmetics. The sad truth is that they just aren’t compelling enough to monetize to the extent that other games do.
Think of it this way: The current battle pass provides TEN cosmetics for only $20. (3 Mage skins, 3 Shaman skins, 1 Warrior skin, 1 card back, 1 coin, and 1 golden card.) In most games, that would be an incredible deal. In this one, no one even seems to care. The discussion about whether the pass is worth it always focuses on how much extra gold it gives you.
I’m not sure what it is, exactly. Part of the problem seems to be that most people don’t need to keep buying new cosmetics. At least one free card back comes out every month, and once you have a preferred hero portrait you probably won’t buy any more for that class. (We’ve gotten 5 alternate Jaina skins this year. Is anyone disappointed if they missed one?) Blizzard seems to have missed some of the opportunities that were really profitable for other games - Custom emotes or boards would be difficult to implement at this time.
The new alternate Coins are a great idea, though the implementation seems lacking. We only have two so far, and a casual observer would already have trouble telling them apart. By the time there are 10 available, will anyone be scrambling to collect them all? (I hope they add some themed Coins related to each class or to events. I’d definitely love a coin ringed with Felfire in a Warlock deck or one that looks like an egg to use during Noblegarden.)
I think that when Hearthstone was new, a lot of foundational decisions were made without understanding what was going to be profitable in 2021. That will be a hard thing to correct now. And even if you don’t care about cosmetics, this is a problem. If cosmetics brought in more money, the cards would probably be cheaper.
Looking at Rocket League's battle pass as an example, I agree that HS' implementation of cosmetics has been lacking. As you say, the design space just isn't there. In Rocket League, each car has 8 slots for cosmetic items, while in Hearthstone we have only three - hero, coin, cardback. Not only that, but compared to the compelling variety of aesthetics you can explore by combining items in Rocket League, the pinnacle (and only possibility, really) of aesthetic synergy in Hearthstone is having a cardback similar to your hero. At the beginning, they played off this - hero skins came with cardbacks - but recently they haven't even done that.
It would be good for them to open more design space, as you say, with custom boards, emotes, hero borders, et cetera and to do so with a mind to aesthetic synergies - what would look good with the existing cosmetics? Have in-jokes, as well, like Rocket League's cosmetic obsession with watermelons and doughnuts. The Battlegrounds' end of match frames would be an easy place to begin with that. Ideologically (technically I haven't the slightest), I don't believe it's too late.
As a side note, implementing viewable player profiles would open plenty of new design space for cosmetics as well.
They could have more cosemtics. CARD SKINS (like in book of heroes) or Hp skis,(again liek book of heroes).
iimagine iceball for KT or summoing blood knight recruits as laidrin kinda thing.
This. So much this
Omg I love the new Uther portrait, so cool :D And Vallera is good looking too. I wonder if they come with new voicelines.
Going to be working on full hero preview videos soon!
They say new things when clicking on them in the client, so very probably
Oh, I didn´t know they are already in heroe´s log in game, along with the new Anduin. Good catch!
So this is what they meant when they said that they are working on more skins than ever. I can totally see more of these skins for the other events. People just have to keep in mind that reusing characters means that they are also reusing the animations, but that is fine with me.
Anduin kind of looks like David Bowie there!
That Anduin flavor text! Lol. Also the Valeera is spicy.
