We've got two new bundles that hit the Hearthstone shop this afternoon and they are flashy and expensive.
For those that love showcasing bling in their decks, Blizzard has brought out two new bundles that you can purchase that will fill your collection up with golden cards from Standard sets.
Golden Standard Bundle
For $25, you can get yourself a standard legendary card and some packs:
- 5 Golden Standard Packs
- 1 Golden Standard Legendary
Mega Golden Standard Bundle
Twice the fun for twice the price! $50 USD will get you:
- 10 Golden Standard Packs
- 2 Golden Standard Legendary
The bundles are available in the Hearthstone Shop through June 2.
Are you picking up the bundle(s)? Tell us why and if you did, share with us the contents of your packs down below!

So i was the type of guy who bought this.
50$, #3 golden legendaries (Akama, Soulciologist, and Lord Barov) So pretty good pulls overall.
I wonder if I was to disenchant legendaries and then buy the pack if I could have controlled which legendaries i got?
Idk even I don't want to spend another 25$, to much of a risk of getting bad legendaries.
Rip-off. Next step will be a 10 pack platin bundle for "only" 500 $?
I am a whale, and this is just way to steep for me lol I will pass
This.
Nahhhh. I bought the classic mega golden bundle when it was available and I'd would again but don't think so for standard. Just too much a chance it would be cards i wouldn't use.
I’m a whale, and I’m sitting here like “Who TF is even buying this?” Its a ripoff.
I wish I could afford wasting that amount of money. Gold cards are nice and I would love to play with them. But I'd rather buy the next expac than this lol
This is for that special breed of whale. Diamond-encrusted toothbrushes, chinchilla toilet paper, and gigantic yachts that feature swimming pools with mini yachts that carry you to the other side.
Just for true whales out there. It doesn't cost those in charge anything in particular to "print" and package digital cards that already exist, so even 0.01% of players buying equals profit.
It will seem rather silly and overpriced to the rest of us; I know I'd never value golden cards as highly. But also far from a die-hard collector of shinies. And hey, at least the initial non-golden offer remains nicely priced for Hearthstone standards.
I think this is only interesting for people building an all-gold collection. People who like having their favorite cards in gold won't benefit from this, since the cards you get are all random. Dust value would be around 3500 for the $25 bundle, which isn't bad but not exceptional either.
This isn't for me, but I think it's fine that they do lots of bundles for different types of players. I would like to see less randomness though; the pre-built decks were a nice step but should be made more attractive to people who already have some of the legendaries/epics.
Is this as bad of a deal as people are making it out to be? The average pack gives 100 dust so I imagine the average golden pack gives around 200? It seems like it is a normal value, just scaled up and in the form of dust/golden cards.
Edit: I love how the battle.net launcher calls it a "varied selection of standard cards" LOL
The crafting cost ratio between normal and gold cards is 2x for legendaries but more for the lower rarities. For example a golden common disenchants for 50 dust, compared to 5 dust for a regular card. As a result, the golden equivalent of a 40 dust pack (1 rare and 4 commons) is 300 dust.
However, the occasional golden card adds quite a lot to the value of regular packs: a single golden common more than doubles the minimum pack value. Golden packs don't have such boosts, so the average dust value of golden packs will be substantially less than 2.5x the worst case that regular packs have.
Mmmmmmmm not only it's expensive as f*ck, but also like... Wrong time to offer it? I know you could get a good amount of dust with the recent nerfs, but I mean... Mini Set around the corner, I prefer to not waste my money in this, and grab the guaranteed new cards.
Also also, only the dust is worth it for me, I normally keep every golden card and wait until nerf season, then dust away every golden that got hit. The legendary would just translate to another weird combo for my ever growing Wild collection. So... still not worth it.
Well, fair play to them for introducing more stuff to sell, but this is about as expensive as it is unnecessary.
The midset is likely releasing in 2-3 weeks time at 15 bucks (assuming its the same as darkmoon races), giving up 4 legendaries in the process. And in between that we were offered not packages of barren packs, but 'standard' packs, as if we were holding back from crafting stuff we need from any of the previous expansions as far back as AoO just for this deal to happen.
Sure, no one is forcing anyone to buy anything. But the price tag on these stuff is sure painful to the human eye.
Absolute rip-off... I can already craft like 5 legendaries with my arena winnings, $50 is just way too much for 2 legendaries that are not even guaranteed to be good. That is just an insane amount of money to spend for such low value, it boggles my mind
Bruh the price of the big bundle is the same price as a whole pre-order bundle for an expansion.
In the mentioned pre-order you would get at least 3 legendaries. 1 bundle legendary, 1 within the first 10 packs and 1 pity timer for the remaining 40 packs.
You get 40 packs less than a pre-order in this bundle so there's no pity timer legendary for you.
The legendaries are golden in this bundle though, meaning that you can disenchant them and basically craft two regular legendaries of your choice.
I would say that whether it is worth it or not, is decided by whether you are guaranteed a legendary within the first 10 packs of these standard packs, or not. That would essentially give you 3 legendaries of your choice which is better than 3 random ones (obviously).
Do we have any confirmation on the 10-pack rule when it comes to the packs included in this bundle?
as far im aware is no legendayr in firts10packs for golden packs and only for the guaranteed at 4
Hmm.. do we have a pity timer on those golden standard pack? I mean we should've get at least 3 golden legendary, no?
Golden packs don't follow pity timer rules so there won't be any real gaming the system with them.
Celestalon confirmed this last year and I can't see a reason why this would have changed.
If I remember properly, no golden pack (of any kind) has any sort of pity timer (neither the legendary guaranteed from the first 10 packs nor the pity timers that assure you a legendary every 40 packs or an epic every 10).
In fact, I will be more explicit: I think the only packs that have the mentioned pity timers are those you can buy directly from the shop in bulk
